King would never be so stupid. Pretty sure he's a tory as is Lampard i think, but i can't see either making public political statements nevermind doing anything like that. It just divides a fanbase when football is a time everyone should be united. Not surprising from Ipswich mind.

I’m sure they both are, don’t really care what their private political opinions are though. When you start nailing the club’s colours to a certain political mast however, nothing good can come of it.

As they should be.

It's bad enough a club throwing its weight behind any political party, but hugely accentuated when it's one as divisive as Reform plc.

Yeah, and I'd say the same if it was a party I supported. It's too divisive.

Im amazed their hierarchy thought this was a good idea. Though maybe they're hoping the Russian connection might net them some players

Forest Green Rovers vs Ipswich Town. If only they could get relegated far enough to play out that fixture.

Do the EDL, sorry EFL have any rules on this kind of thing, would Reform being a company rather than a political party circumnavigate them if so. There should be no place for any political affiliations in football clubs.

Did this actually happen? Are those photos AI? I can imagine some clever little (r|f)acist in the party's team booking a ticket on the tour without telling the club who was coming, but surely you just refuse entry.

Massive own goal for Ipswich, but yet more yapping online about that party and its leader. Grim.

Reform clearly think there is a market for their brand of politics in football fan bases, there was blurb on social media from reform yesterday about this visit to Ipswich, the club could have quite easily cleared up if it was genuine or not, but silence.

It will confusing for Norwich supporting gammons though. Penny for their thoughts this morning.

If it was just a tour then someone probably should have wondered if there could be issues caused by printing and supplying a load of Ipswich shirts with Farage on the back.

Bit of a desperate signing for Ipswich

Inviting this festering c**t of rotting abortion piss into your club is unforgivable.

I don't care that Reform is a PLC, I don't care that he hasn't tagged the club in the post. If they invited him there they are in the wrong. If they didn't and they don't call it out as being unsolicited, they are in the wrong.

He is pure unadulterated evil and represents everything that is wrong in this country right now as well as being the main reason for it being that way too.

There is no place for this in football. Whether it is reform/tory/labour/greens whatever. Politics is so divisive, and supporter bases so diverse that as soon as shit like this starts happening, a portion of your fans will always feel alienated.

I genuinely feel sorry for those Ipswich fans that aren't knuckle dragging, racist, flag-shagging, homophobes that have to live with this skidmark of a stain on their club for the rest of their lives.

I'm sure they could have stopped it once it became clear that it was a stunt. And if they supplied multiple shirts with his name on the back then they were complicit.

That would have caused more trouble than it’s worth

Why? They could have simply said "sorry but we wish to remain apolitical" and people would have said "OK, fair".

Because they’d already allowed him in and the media circus it would then have created would have lasted for weeks whereas this hasn’t even actually really made any news on the national media outlets at all.

At the very least if this is the case they should put out a statement saying that they do not, as a club, support any political party and acknowledge that anyone is able to book a tour of the ground, purchase replica shirts and take photos whilst they do so.

If they don't it's a disgrace.
