The second part of this post contradicts the first I think. A team can't both 'do a number' on another one while the other forces the keeper into multiple top class saves and misses a bunch of massive chances.
For me you can, they rode their luck at points but they had stopped us getting into a proper rhythm. Their keeper made a few good saves, especially from Kitch, the rest was on us not being cynical/actively bad Infront of goal.
They did their bit and it paid off for them. Like I said I'll hand them a bit of praise, a good team in good form, absolutely not anything to worry about.
Just about all the stats were in our favour except for goals scored. Yes they did a number on us by trying to get our players sent off and kept going into our players with studs showing. They got the luck in front of goal.
That's the Championship though isn't it? they set out to disrupt our midfield, they got some luck but ultimately it worked.
VAR might have had a say but we know that's not in action at this level, and to be fair we have got away with a few in recent weeks, Tats Vs Preston... Onyeka against basically everyone (actually might be a bit a problem in the Prem with him)
Doing a number I take to mean nullifying the other side in some sort of way. If they still created plenty of good chances and your keeper's had to have the game of the season, I don't agree.
Its done now anyway, we move. I fancy them to get play offs unfortunately, where i am going to be basically supporting Millwall, looking at the other teams i expect to be in there.
We're hopeful of that as it would stand us in great stead.
Even if Ipswich win their game in hand and beat Millwall (which would be potentially the worst outcome of those 2 games for us) we would be 2 points clear of them with 6 other games to play, one of which is Sheff Wed still. Millwall would then be 8 points behind us for those remaining 6 games to make up as well with an inferior GD.
Would much prefer Wrexham over Ipswich or Southhampton.
Though given a choice it would be us, Boro and Millwall. Though as long as we go up, not overly fussed
