Are you tired after winning 25 home games in 33? I’m not…
It felt a bit surreal in the ground last night to be honest, Championship games really aren't supposed to be that comfortable. But it was played like a training session and the atmosphere was like a friendly-nothing like a typical game against PNE since we came back into this league.

First time the geordie at work has said to me we are going up .. said hes looking forward to thumping us next season

Not sure wayay hes being like that tbh , Coventry 2-1 Newcastle
Just remind him of the worst premier league side of all time (Derby 2007/08), their only win was against Newcastle!

Nah, I was too tired to smash anything tbh. Long day at work followed by hospital visits, meant I only caught the last half hour of the match, which didn't improve the day any!

It's a Typical Boro moment all over, we struggle against the low block anyway, but we're regretting not breaking the bank and throwing 12M plus on a ready made striker, probably from overseas.

Armstrong wasn't the answer though, goes missing for large chunks of the season.

Who do you fancy in the playoffs?

So basically "Hellball" is Carrick with less shooting.

Carrick wins that game last night.
Did you watch Carrick?
We were famous for getting beat off the relegation haunted sides, think one season we took 1 solitary point from the 6 games against them home and away🤪 There's not a cat in hell's chance Carrick would have won that last night, we'd have had less shots and not made any subs until the 75th minute, keeping the starters out until they were dead on their feet?

This had more shades of "Typical Boro" which is a trait we have irrespective of who the manager is.

Tactics wise though, we should have mixed it up at half time, gone 3 at the back and used it our LB and RBs to push on and give us width as a low block is most effective against sides who like to play through the middle? Just my opinion anyway, I could be wrong.

I think it will get worse before it gets better too as we have king of the shithouserry and hoodoo extraordinaire side Bristol City up next...😬 Our best chances of collecting 3 points in our remaining games are Ipswich away, Millwall at home and the Owls.
The rest of the games are in the lap of the Gods though, who knows?🤪

Hopefully it will be enough, but right now you could toss a coin as far as I'm concerned, it's that tight.
Aside from the obvious financial windfall and getting better players in another reason we're dying to go up is that there stands to be very little in the way of low block sides in the Prem!

If we don't get autos, I'd like Millwall to get them, partly for the romance of it and partly because they're the most "low block" side remaining? We may have beaten them 3 nil in our first game, but I'd see frustrating encounters on a knife edge, entirely dependent on whether one of our 34 shots from trickier areas went in?🤣

To give us the best chance of succeeding in the playoffs IMHO, we'd need open sides that try going toe to toe and playing football as those are the sides we have most success against?

So I'd personally I'd want, Ipswich, Southampton and Wrexham to face off against. We have the most chance of success against those 3.

This from chat gpt:
  • The club’s all-time longest league winning streak is 6 matches (achieved in 1954, 1964, and again recently in 2025).
  • That means runs above 6 are very rare, and most modern streaks top out around 5–6 wins.

Is something that’s never happened “very rare”?

Boro = media darlings who will go out in play off semis….. then will have to deal with a stacked championship next season in which they won’t compete. Nice whilst it lasted for those six games though lads!

I know you’ll say ‘hoodoo’ but Bristol C are absolutely honking and look like they’ve given up on the season. Fully expecting you to do the business Saturday.
