Does feel that way doesn't it. Ensures the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham have more of a chance of the big time every season.
Maybe the format will turn out to not be as bad as everyone thinks in the end, but really not keen on the constant changes to an already working system. Just feels like more Americanisation of football
This is getting ridiculous. Why not include all 24 teams and be done with it! Oh hang on, thats called the league. Dump the play offs altogether and just promote the top 3. If there must be play offs, pitch the upper 3 from from the bottom 5 of the PL against positions 3, 4 and 5 from the championshipThe fucking game has gone! Imagine finishing 8th and getting promoted to the Prem. This is bullshit

A league where only 2 go up, and the top half of the division are probably better than at least half of League 2 anywaysIt works okay actually in the National League.
A similar thing happens in the SPL and no fucker seems to get promoted by it, or at least not that often as the weakest SPL team are stronger than best Scottish Championship teams. This is getting ridiculous. Wasn't there something like this when they first started - 3rd bottom in Higher Div in the mix with 3-5 top from Lower Div. Can't recall that lasting long. This is getting ridiculous. Ususally whoever goes down in thats shitfest goes straight back up anyways as the standard in Scotland is poorA similar thing happens in the SPL and no fucker seems to get promoted by it, or at least not that often as the weakest SPL team are stronger than best Scottish Championship teams.
When the old EFL league 1 (top division) had a play off like that didn't Charlton just stay up every year by beating the much weaker league 2 team?
Do they, there's a number of ex SPL teams in the Scottish Championship nowUsusally whoever goes down in thats shitfest goes straight back up anyways as the standard in Scotland is poor
We may have had something to play for at the end of the 23/24 season if the rule had been in place.Yes because every single club in the Championship voted for this because they love parachute teams, Birmingham and Wrexham and they want to give them the best chance of promotion.
Come on lets tune in our brain here.
At a very rough glance, if you look at who's finished 7th/8th over the past decade I don't see many parachute teams in those spots but without cross referencing I can't give exact numbers.
But presuming I'm right IMO new format should in theory increase competition on the whole more than it will potentially bail out parachute teams or Brum.

True, we bottled it that year a little bit. 3 wins in the final 13 but the team was nowhere near Top 6 level.Or 21/22
Still don't agree, if you finish 8th you don't deserve to get promoted. Includes CCFC in that.We may have had something to play for at the end of the 23/24 season if the rule had been in place.

Would be interesting to see what clubs voted in favour of this.
Onyeka only if he stays. First on the bench defcon monster.Who in our current team would you pick.
I think MVE may be one of mine.
Yellow cards might be an issue though! Maybe Rudoni could be a cheap puntOnyeka only if he stays. First on the bench defcon monster.
Think they’ve changed the format of that for this season. Last year I think there was a 3 week gap from the end of the regular season till the higher placed teams got involved in the play offs. This obviously favoured the lower placed teams who had kept playing. No surprise that Oldham, a low finisher, were promoted while York who were obviously the best team in the play offs missed out.It works okay actually in the National League.
Imagine if you got points for every time a player was offside....I'll be punting on wright as my third forward as we should get a shit load of pens in the prem
... PUSB
As someone mentions, it's a play off to play in the play offs
I reckon it's probably seen as a mitigation against the parachute payments. To be honest with you I'd rather a non parachute team in 8th be promoted than a parachute team in 3rd.I'd imagine it was pretty much unanimous. Why wouldn't it be when it gives clubs increased access to the PO spots.
I don't really see a reason a logical reason why a club would object against it really.

I think it depends, always space for £4m defenders! Was thinking about this the other day if there was a Fantasy Championship league.
Torp would have been my go to as he was getting goals at the start of the season, but he's not featured as much recently.
For the Premier League, definitely not a defensive player!
Probably Rudoni

Do throw ins count as assists?Didn't realise Van Ewijk had so many assists this season! He would be a good shout
How many times have we scored from one of his long throw ins? I dont recall one in recent months so probably not as many as one would thinkDo throw ins count as assists?
Nah i just meant out of curiosityHow many times have we scored from one of his long throw ins? I dont recall one in recent months so probably not as many as one would think
