We take the piss, but fair play to Wagner and the Brummies for getting the brand deals out onto store shelves so quickly, shows what a serious businessman he must be!

The most 'passed' stadium in the Europe!

How many people does he think will be travelling on HS2 each day?

"My sneaking suspicion is that this is going to be used quite a bit more than any of us realise today and that will be definitive when HS2 is done. When HS2 is finished this is the most accessible stadium in England, for sure, and probably the most accessible in the UK and Western Europe, and I know it will be the most passed stadium – meaning more eyeballs will see this stadium every day than any other stadium in Europe.

It will sit on a number of major transport lines, whether it’s Great Western, HS2, the surface rail tram that will be built or the existing highway. It’s a pretty fantastic location.”

you can see wembley from the current train line into Euston which will likely be more used than HS2 as it has local trains as well as express trains

There's other stadiums with tube lines running past that will be busier than HS2 and the current train lines as well.

Some bonkers stuff from Wagner.

The loan is still money you have to pay back at 11% interest rates, there is no getting around this

Why would the NFL not come to Brum? They have reached peak saturation point in the UK already and are looking to other markets. There is not for logistics reasons going to be a European NFL team and there has already been and gone a European NFL league which sadly wasn't a money spinner as it wasn't NFL teams.

Let us see if you have a retractable roof and pitch, the specs will change.

Loads of "serious" businessmen make massive pledges and don't come good on them. Also I know people from the WM Mayors office, the 75 people is not what it seems and no the full revenue doesn't flow into BCFC.

You'll build a stadium but it will not look at the shite AI nonsense released today.

I'm with Arsene Wenger (a proper football man) not some Johnny come lately expert.
Wenger said if you build a new ground it puts the club out of top division contention until the money is paid off. That is what happened to Arsenal and many other clubs that built new grounds, as well as us.

Just dawned on me that the Gudjohnsen playing for Blackburn tonight is the son of Eidur Gudjohnsen. Now that makes me feel bloody old.

If HS2 or other trains are moving at speed past the ground, then the noise will be awful. Same for full speed inter city trains. Don't know how close they are? Go to the youth training ground, the Coventry to London train sounds intrusively loud.

Atrocious defending from Blackburn. Similar to their game here, played well but just cannot defend.

Preston not great at all, their underlying numbers are bad so I'd expect them to slip down the table

Two pretty poor teams. And that's a red all day. Scum bag tackle.

What tonight's game illustrates is that all teams can beat each other in this division, which is why the auto total will be much, much lower than last season. Suits us, big style.

If Blackburn can beat them, surely it must be our turn this year??

Horrible tackle. Don't think he meant it, but was very dangerous.

Defo a 'I'm pissed off we're losing ' tackle and was a bit unfortunate his boot bounced off the ground into his shin, but it's still a red all day.

I still don't understand this 'underlying numbers' & XG bollocks - it's football not maths

Have you ever seen a game where you can’t believe we’ve won/lost? That’s xG. Thats literally all it is. And football is maths, that’s how we know who won.

It's just a numerical representation of the statement "we had the better of the game"

Our xG against Norwich was 4.02 to their 0.15. We didn't win that game but if we replayed it 10 times over with the same chances for both sides how many of those do you think we would win?
That was game 5 and back then we were only 3 places above them, now it's 23 places, and the stats in that game reflected that. It was only one game but it was supported by similar stats in our other games against other teams. That's why you need to look at stats over a period of games.
