When you don't give the league a 10 game headstart that tends to help!

There are no outstanding teams this season on the same level as the 3 of last season.

I went on to the Derby forum, out of curiosity, and they were talking about their chances of the top 6 )which I found amazing). Have 'Ipswich' vibes about Sunderland this season - and if they sign Henderson in the next window, I think they'll have a really good chance of staying up there (faux rivalry, aside).

There are some on here still going on about us making the top 6, which is just as unlikely.

Think there could be a record low total to make the play offs this season as the spread of points seems like it will be even across a large number of teams.

If we can get our shit together and actually go on a run then the play-offs are still wide open for us. I’ll still consider it very unlikely though until we start seeing more performances like Luton and less like Swansea, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston, Leeds etc. etc.

On the topic of Swansea they’ve only scored in one away game all season, wonder who that was against… Still pissed off by some of the absolute shite we’ve let beat us so far this season. Them, Stoke, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston all awful sides.

Perfect season for it, as predicted the league does look a fair bit weaker this season. Real shame we had to shit the bed again.

We need to go on a little run and get some confidence from it, then see where we're at. Luton was good but they do seem to be a very poor team. We're far enough in where the table doesn't really lie and they could be in relegation trouble.

We’re like 7 points off in November?

I know. I still don’t think we’ll make the top 6.

We were 4 points off the play offs at the end of March 2023 (and funnily enough the same a year later)

We've just got to keep it in sight and anything can happen.

Pretty incredible how Wright's goal at PNE was given as handball but this ridiculously blatant one by Bristol was missed by all the officials. Preston vs Bristol City: Yu Hirakawa scores with blatant handball

They only ever seem to save all their good fortune for when CCFC come to town.

It's a marathon not a sprint. If we can keep playing like this there's no reason why we shouldn't finish in the top 6.

Something like that is as deserving of being suspended like Godden’s “dive“ resulting in a penalty was.

That lad Bayo for Watford looks class, he stuck 4 past the Wendies yesterday. 6-2 win, in the end.

Open league for sure and slow and steady could well win the race.. If we are in and around come Jan teams will not be wanting to see us creeping up. We are a dangerous side with confidence so nothing would surprise me on how this all plays out.

Well, Sunderland are either clear and gone by Nov 1st or they implode and crash over Christmas/New Year, I know which one I fancy more.
Under the radar again for us too please

Ok, I’m not getting the point here. All I said was that he ‘looks class’ going by his pace, movement and finishing ability.

Surely the point is he's had gone great game, let's see how he is over a season as he appears to have scored 1 goal in his other 11 games this season.

He was wank for Celtic as well.

Fair enough, I haven’t seen much of him to form an opinion, I just thought he was superb against the Wendies and terrorised them at will.
