With home form like this, we’re not going to mess this up.

We’ve definitely loss 2 league at home though; Burnley and Leeds. 3 if we include Ipswich in the FA Cup.

24 games won 18 drew 4 lost 2
Which is crazy. We’ve had some tough games at home too last season and this.

I’m not that worried about dropping off from our current position when our home form has been this good under Lampard. We’ve got all the top half teams at home in 2026 and we’ve done the ‘hard bit’ of playing them away.

Not to mention we still have Swansea, Portsmouth, Oxford and Sheff Weds to come at home where I’d be very surprised if we didn’t win all 4.

Grimes has only lost 1 league home game he has started for us
Burnley? He played v Leeds but didn’t start. We draw that game if one of Collins or Kitching takes charges and hoofs the ball away.

Home form is always key and no one could’ve had any complaints if won all 9 of our games. At home we don’t look like anything can set us back.

Go 1 or 2 goals down? No problem. The Charlton fans didn’t know what was coming when they sung ‘Top of the league? You’re having a laff’…

One improvement Lampard has done from last season and under MR was that this team can win from losing positions. It was rare last season and under MR as a whole.

I would still prefer it if we didn’t keep conceding the first goal though, unless we’re doing it to set ourselves a challenge…

Yes Burnley game. Leeds was his debut off the bench. That will be the key to staying up in the premier league. Sunderland's home form so far is great. Without that they would be struggling like the other 2.

Conceding goals from set pieces is becoming an issue again…

Iirc, we’ve only conceded 7 goals from open play this season; 1 v Norwich, 1 v Pompey, 3 v Wrexham and 2 v WBA. Have I missed any more?

Nope that’s all of them. They’re just poor quality goals by and large, really soft. The irony is that Rushworth keeps out the would-be screamers so I think if we are to concede it’s for when the defence doesn’t do its job.

7 from open play suggests the defence is doing a ridiculously good job, set plays is more of a whole team defensive failure, although that might be what you meant.

Whilst the home form is brilliant, I said at the start of the season that I think we will be a better away team this season.

Im weirdly more confident going to away games at the moment than home games

Madness when you compare the records

So we have 14 home games left to play.
Hypothetically let's say we win 10, draw 2 lose 2. Given our record that sounds plausible. That's 32 points added to our 43 =75.
That leaves us to find somewhere between 12 and 15 points from our 14 away games.
Even if we said win 9 at home and lose the rest, that still takes us to 70, with 18 to 20 to find from the 14 away games.
And we have only lost 1 game so far.
