They have also signed Dembele from Peterborough in the last hour.

Bournemouth have made a mad number of high profile signings in just 1 day.

Luton win away at Swansea and go 2 points above us, we have a game in hand though

Unacceptable not to win when we're not even playing.

If we won both our games in hand as things stand we'd be 6th still (taking into account games played by teams above).

Scott Parker is an average manager who needs all the help he can get. Not getting top 2 with that Fulham team was poor. Missing out this season would be even worse.

For some reason the media love him though.

But surely that just highlights the ridiculousness in the money available to Prem and Champ teams? It basically says it's impossible to survive in the Prem without bringing in some players on much, much higher wages and even then you'll struggle, but if you get relegated (thus proving those expensive players weren't up to it anyway) and drop a single division the wages of those players risk putting the club in severe financial peril. It's madness.

Before Grendel starts, I know what I'm about to write is not going to happen, but I think the idea of having player contracts linked to income, so their basic wage is a percentage of the fixed income streams (like TV, league money etc) and thus it automatically rises or falls with the amount of money available to the club and prevents it being put in financial jeopardy. This is then topped up by the variable income streams (ticket sales, merch, F&B etc) in the form of bonuses (preferably at the end of the season and based on appearances made, thus reflecting the individuals contribution to that).

Players are automatically rewarded for good performance and success and the players who are responsible for failure are 'punished' for it, while the club (and so the fans) have a level of protection from going out of business due to overinflated wage costs

He dresses quite smartly, you know how the media fawn over the perceived higher standards of people in smart dress

Unlikely. They'll probably go for a manager that has experience in getting clubs out of this division.

Mentions of Mowbray and Robins on their site. Two pertinent points about those two:

1. They're the top 2 longest serving managers at this level
2. Both got relegated the season they took over their respective clubs and rebuilt from there

Just not sure West Brom would be the right move for either, especially Mowbray where the expectations will be unrealistic with comparisons to his previous tenure

Mowbray clearly has a very good relationship with Venkys as well, they've shown a lot of faith in him over the past few years even when the results have been poor.

Alex Neil has been at their last few games apparently. Decent manager, wouldn’t mind him here if we did ever lose Robins.

He got Norwich promoted in 2015 after taking over when they were outside the play off places. He did well at Preston, 3 top half finishes for a team with a relatively low budget.

See above post, look how much worse Preston have been since he left. Also promoted with Hamilton up in Scotland. He would be one of the better managers we could attract.
