Sell the prima donna. Kilbane twice the player, Edge can cover and in utter desperation we can use a right back. Wood is also a left back!
Hussey is constantly out of position, CANNOT tackle and delivers one good cross in ten (without ever looking up).

Think you may have got the wrong definition of prima donna

Of course there is an inbetween. I just couldn't be arsed to quote you.

Otis said:
Yeah, that's right, cos if he's not great he must be poor. There is no inbetween. You are either great or poor.

Dumbfounding.

So why make out that he is 'poor' then?

For what it is worth I quite rate the guy,but in my book, great he certainly isn't!

I just can't be arsed arguing with you. To my mind you are the only poster I have seen who has described the bloke as great. Been a few saying he's getting better, much improved, raw round the edges, could be great in League One etc. But you seem to be the only one describing him as great.

I was just very, very surprised to see someone come out and describe him as great, hence my comment about my not being able to comprehend someone describing him in such a fashion.

And your point was a moot point about the Championship clubs anyway. Bigi went to Newcastle, does that make him great too? in fact that's the Premiership isn't it, so what's that then, super great?

Not really. I think the system deployed in the first half of the season was culpable in the ensuing relegation and it placed a huge burden on two inexperienced full backs both in terms of making chances and also defending. The system was changed and they could spend more time focused on defence. Hussey improved at that point. He still has weaknesses but they may also improve. I would probably in his case try and keep him even if its for the year as I cannot see the fee we get being very much anyway.

I would be hoist by my own logic if didn't deny that.

Though those who think that Keogh is a Premiership player would have to use the same logical rules of course.

This is all predicated on the local Paul Foot of investigative journalism that is Andy Turner being correct of course.

Nope, that makes him a £25million pound player!

Is he as world class as Richard Keogh though?

How on earth didn't we win the league by a clear 12 points last season with all these fantastic players?

Something that has puzzled me also, especially with a World class manager to guide them, who strangely was "given nothing to work with", yet he was a World class scout too.

Puzzling.

For someone who's constantly pedantic over the wording of others i'm surprised you've gone off on one over the word ''great''. Do i think he is one of the greatest players in our history? Nope. But i think he's a great little player. It's a saying, isn't it? ''I had a great night out'', ''that was a great game''. And as you're taking things so literally, no I don't think he's little either.

I'm sure when you were saying we "definitely" wouldn't win away all season you didn't mean it literally.

To be clear, i like Hussey i think he's a really good player. Yes,i think he' great.

A really good player?

Another jaw dropper.

You know as well as I do that saying a player is great has a completely different connotation from saying I had a great night out.

You know it and I know it, so don't pretend otherwise.

You ask anyone to give you a list of great players and see who they name.

Yes, I think he is a really good player. Why should you have a problem with that?

I don't have a problem with it.

Just thought it OTT and if you had have said you think he is a really good player I probably wouldn't have even mentioned it.

Just that you didn't did you. I reacted to what you actually said, which was that he was a great player. Would you rather I reacted to something you didn't say then?

Lads, have to say and I know I will get some flack for this but your little tit for tat disagreements aren't half boring.

I know you will say dont read them then. However when I see an update on a post about Chris Hussey potentially leaving then I am bound to have a gander.

No, totally agree, Dongon.

Let's let it lie.

You obviously do. If i'd said he is one of our greatest ever stars then fair enough but the opinion i gave was mine; I think. And I do, so if you disagree then you disagree. Good for you.

I think we also have to remember who Hussey played behind for a lot of last season when we talk about how good he was or not. We all know McSheffrey isnt known for his great defensive ability and some might say he is utterly useless going back so i think that was a main reason as to why Hussey struggled in some games. I like him as an attacking full back if he continues to develop his defending and if Sheffers can learn to defend a little otherwise i dont mind if he goes if we get a decent fee and sign a solid all round left back to replace him

At nearly 30, I don't think sheffers is gonna learn how to defend.

I want our attacking players at the other end of the pitch, not defending as some want. Once you bring them into defence you are inviting your opponents to attack you. Sheffers should always stay in the other half. Don't matter if he is useless at defending. If we get an early goal we ahould carry on attacking, not defending for 85 mins. Maybe then we can score for fun, not be amongst the bottom scorers for once.

I sort of agree with this but the modern game dictates both full backs and wide players have to a bit of both. Some full backs are often slated for the inability to go forward and have to have that as an element to their game.
I know I will be slated for this but I actually thought Mcindoe was not too bad as he could support the defence. If we continue with a diamond style shape the wider attacking players have to have a defensive attribute or we have a problem.

Totally agree.

Hussey's strength is in going forwards. His weakness is in defence. It should be the other way round. Clarke is a much, much better player cos he can do both relatively well.

Could do well in this league but only had about 2 good games in the Championship.

If we get around £250k and there is a better replacement available on a free, let him go.

Replacement full backs are not so easy to find and he looked good in the second half of the season. His value may escalate. We should try and keep him.

All 11 men on the pitch have their job to do defensively. At the top of the diamond he can get away with not defending too much, but playing wide with an attacking fullback then you have to do your fair share. Even strikers have to work for the team when not in possession. I agree we should attack more but there are times when the other side are on top and you have to defend.

For the price he would get, there's no point selling. Not even a months rent.

Who cares about the rent? It's if we can spend on better players or not.
