He has probably been sold already !!
Its highly likely, three teams have enquired at least one will make an offer.
When did sisu last turn down an offer to sell a player ?
And lastly the CET are so slow and lazy i wouldn't be surprised if Hussey played a whole season for another club before they got wind and reported it !!

I would expect many on here not to know the difference between an inquiry and an enquiry but it's surely a minimum requisite for a fully fledged journalist! Good old CET on the cutting edge as usual.

If Hussey didn't have a year left on his contract, I would say try and retain the player unless a silly offer came in, but with a year left on his contract, is he under 24 - could he be another player we lose for free??

Ideally we can hold out until Januaray before selling, then come Jan we could hvae Clarke on the left and Christie (back from injury) at righ back.

Whilst I don't particularly rate Hussey, I am very consicous that we are looking at a practically new team and could do with come stability.

Chris Hussey is only 23 and I think he will be great at league 1 level. Considering we brought him from a non leauge team he has made a massive jump up.

I think hussey will shine in league one this year, hope we keep him. Always thought he has bags of potential and believe his championship experience will have put him in good stead for league 1.

He may very well be good at League One level(though think the basics of his craft at left-back would remain the same whatever the League).

Noticed it's been said a lot about players, that "they'd be great at League One level", such as McPake, Deegan, Hussey, Bell, Baker, even Clingan etc.

May be true, but they were never good enough for Championship, and when anybody ever mentioned that then would be shouted down.

Buy too many League One level players, that is where you're going to end up, which is what happened.

Can't always strike it lucky like with Dann,Fox, and Westwood.

I was pretty critical of him at the start of the season but he did certainly make a vast improvement. I think part of that was down to a change in playing style but generally the system we play puts a huge emphasis on full backs both defending and getting forward to supply crosses.
If he has only one year left he will probably have to be sold though at what price is anyone's guess. He is still unproven but may gain value this season if he continues to make progress. There is a danger also in changing the whole team - that rarely is successful so this is possibly a lose lose situation.

I think he was taken very raw from Non League football

He has learnt his trade and developed the more and more he played.

We are at the stage now where we really could reap the benefits from him. A drop in a division and he is a lot more experienced.

Yes he has a year left on his contract however I cant imagine his wages are massive as he came form non league.

Offer him a league one contract do it now. If he says no consider selling him.

I can't help but feel cynical that it is all London clubs interested in him. Has he put out a plea. Surely a single club from out of London would be sniffing as well.

I'm no huge fan of Hussey, but think he can do a job in League 1 and am even less of a fan of playing centre backs as full backs or entrusting a long season to Kilbane there (I think he will deserve a midfield berth more often than not). I can't see us getting more than about £100k for him and doubt he would be on huge bucks. Would seem more advantageous to keep him, not that common sense always prevails.

QPR bought Borrowdale. All I was saying is that I am not fully sold on Hussey, but would like him to see this season out with us and continue making progress and becoming more of a tidy defender. No accusations of poorness from me.

I liked Sean Flynn. I wad one of those that forgave everything else because of his commitment . Never had the same affinity for telf though don't know why

Yeah I mentioned him as I knew a few people always liked him. Commitment over skill - could never take to him at all.

Sell the prima donna. Kilbane twice the player, Edge can cover and in utter desperation we can use a right back. Wood is also a left back!
Hussey is constantly out of position, CANNOT tackle and delivers one good cross in ten (without ever looking up).

But then again you can get an apparently Premiership level player that gets signed by a mid-lower level Championship club instead of a Premier League club. Amazing!

I think he is broadly alright and it hasn't updated my opinion of Thorn. You can prove any Scout at any club is either class or shit from his signings. Some come off, some don't. It is a bit of a stupid, cyclical argument, particularly when no one knows for sure the amount of involved parties in signing players for clubs. Have a pop at / defend his tactical decisions, everything else just betrays the fact people look for things to give credence to their stance.

Like many others Hussey has grown and developed at the club without us necessarily seeing him reach his full potential yet. As such it would be frustrating if he left us now. Surely on minimal wages coming as a youngster from non league and probably wouldn't command much of a fee, in his case it may be better to retain even if he walks for free in 12m
