Various sources. Could get really clever and use RSS feeds but I never bother using them.

As an 80 year old supporter since 1952, some members of the CCFPA may mean nothing to today's supporters but to us oldies even those former players who never quite made it, rekindles distant memories of the good old days. Is George Mason dead lol ?

I sort of get what Skybluedownunder means but I disagree strongly.
At the Sheffield United game legends day when they announced some of the names were a little obscure for most but it brought back a moment in time for me.
When Alan Dicks was announced the guy to my right said “who the fuck was he? “ well to me he was the Adi to Mark Robins for Jimmy Hill and deserved to be there, I loved the fact that Dennis Mortimer, league and European Cup winner and captain, still has our club in his heart when his golden years with Villa by virtue of it being his start in the game. Players who played a game or two and came through our ranks may not be legends but they are our boys.
I would much rather clap these former players than Craig Bellamy who had a stellar career but didn’t give a shit about our club.

Most of us would give our right arm just to come on as a 90th minute substitute. So, any player who feels proud enough to join the CCFPA, having played however many matches for us, gets a massive thumbs up from me! And surely, if we wish to be a truly inclusive club, we should be celebrating every single one of them. (Except maybe Craig Bellamy!)

But what do they do? Why do they get these people on board? You’ll see them announce somebody probably like Julian Gray and sometimes I think to myself… why have they reached out to this person. You’ll see players such as David Pipe etc and they weren’t even very good when they were here and were journeymen in the lower leagues so I just don’t understand it.

And for the person who said c**t of the year post… I said ‘excuse my ignorance’ but I genuinely wanted to actually understand what they do

I doubt anyone would have their right arm amputated actually for such a thing

They are former players but most of them are no legends as they were classed at one stage, people like Paul Culpin can never be a legend.

I believe our FPA is one if not the biggest in the country, something that the people who run it are rightly proud of.
They are all voluntary role's and receive no support from the club whatsoever.
A big well done to all involved imo.

Too much time in the hot sun can lead to a number of health conditions. This includes sunburn, dehydration, hyponatremia, heat exhaustion, heatstroke and posting bollocks on internet message boards. You can avoid these conditions by taking the right precautions. Use sunscreen and sun-protective clothing and taking some time away from the internet.

I have no idea what an RSS is

But yeah for the person who said Twitter… nobody in Aus that I know of uses Twitter, never took off here and I guess you’d also need to be looking in the right places too to actually find Cov news wouldn’t you by following all the right people?
Reason I like newsnow is cause if it mentions Coventry it just pulls it all through (unfortunately including that Conor Coventry lad)
But back to my original point about the CCFPA… For example, do we really need to know it’s Peter Reid’s birthday? Couldn’t give a fuck about the monkey head

Give me some signings or at least some speculation

Within a few minutes you could create a Twitter account, follow the club and the #PUSB hashtag and you're all set.

I get what you’re saying. I’d be confused too if Julian Gray joined the FORMER players association.

I always thought getting money for Steve Sedgely and Andy Pearce were pretty impressive.

Anyway, I’m now thinking how much fun it would be to get Craig Bellamy to our legends day.
is he our most hated ever player? I’m guessing Les Sealy would’ve been up there…now he is up there.

What have you got against Sedgley?

Sealey came back on loan, of course.

Nothing as a person…I just didn’t think he was that good. I know we sold him when he was quite young still, but don’t think he looked particularly good for Spurs either.
I think we got nearly £1mil for him? Which I was chuffed with.

I loved it when Sealy came back.

I hadn’t considered a whole day of hate!

Terry Butcher could lead them out.

Afterwards, in the casino, you can go and hear them give hilarious anecdotes about how they think they are much better than us.

No Kevin Kyle?

Keith O'Neil as well, although that should probably be labelled "Villains 5 minutes" as he'd never last the whole day.....

Oh there’s plenty more we could invite. Kyle could re-enact his red card against Burnley that saw the most toxic atmosphere against one of our players I’ve ever seen

Had a look back through that list to see if there are many 'Legends' that are not members, and I can't find many.

From the PL days Boateng and Babb are the closest I would have thought, with Soltvedt amongst the second rank. Championship maybe Fox, Dann and Wise and League 1 McGoldrick (do loans count?) and Leon Clarke.

The main thing I've taken from this thread is, me using NewsNow as my main source of cov news is not up to date. In my defense I'm getting sod all from 'Ask Jeeves' and the fax seems to be buggered..
