I bet he is nowhere near the wages of Williams who you thought the departure of Tudgay would fund.

our players aren't paid a lot so even being one of the highest doesn't mean that much.

I bet he's on £3k pw. We lost Nouble, Miller, Jackson and %wage contributions for Proschwitz and Samuel. You could have easily afforded Williams and another 2-3 others out of those wages.

Honestly Samo.....you asked me what I would have done, I told you - not resigned Tudguy and used his wages plus some extra to try and get Williams in. You said

Which is pretty clear you're mocking me. I really ain't that bothered. How do we know if he would have wanted to come if we haven't/didn't make an approach for him. Donny are usually pretty frugal with their budget so I can't see them paying stupid wages to sign there.

I trust TM, however I am concerned about our attacking options, and it's not a secret as TM has also stated this. The disappointing thing it it's likely that 3-4 of our new signings will likely start the season on the bench as only Vincelot and Ricketts are guaranteed starters. TM has been playing 4231 so Tudguy will start with Armstrong on the bench, Vincelot and fleck will play in CM so Morris will likely be on the bench, 50:50 with stokes/Haynes, and if Swanson was fit Lameires would likely have sat out with Swanson, Maddison and JOB starting.

I meant you no offence Stu. I meant my question in a broader sense than the answer you gave. I too am concerned about our attacking options, we all are but I am confident they will be resolved. If they are not... we will have decide how we feel about TM's judgement.

We all no fuck all about what deals and wages the players are on so why do people moan and think they are all the best manager's. TM obviously knows the lad and thinks he brings something to the team I just hope he has in place a winger and a striker but what the fuck do I no as I get all my information from social media.

Why would we want to spend anything on him? He was abysmal, even if out of position he showed nothing at all when I saw him.

"Akpon was the 'business' and 18 when he came on loan, league one maybe shite bit first team football is a lot different to bossing agains your age group. It makes more sense to have little expectation of him than it does to predict he will score for fun. He probably won't even start the season in the first 11".

Akpom hadn't played any first game experience for arsenal, and had only played for the under 21's. he was a great prospect, and obviously had some quality, but hadn't had experience in holding off big defenders. he had played for England under 21' s which is a great achievement but not anywhere near the sort he needed to go into games against league 1 defenders, who go through players and make their presence felt. Armstrong on the other hand has experience in youth games, for his club and England which has given him a lot of confidence. he has also played for the first team against players ho know the game well and play at the highest level of the English game. he has even started games for Newcastle against premier league rivals. this shows he has class, and also can hold off defenders and be physical despite not being the biggest. i mean for god sake hes forced his way through the ranks to be a competitor to be a first choice striker last season. this boy has something special, and he isnt shy to shoot, he can use both feet and his head, and has pace. im not saying his going to be the answer to all our problems, but hearing terms such as "hes just an 18 year old boy" it annoys me. of course hes not the full article yet, and that's why he is here, to progress. but he is far from a young boy that's going to get knocked off the ball, and look un-interested. hes a young man who wants to show he is good enough. he wants game time, and will push to be a starter. so lets just give the lad a chance, if hes knocks in one or two on Saturday, i bet he wont be "just a boy", and statements like "hes not going to score that many" will stop, because Adam is a striker and its his job to find the net, which im sure he will do, and time will tell, but im very confident Adam will be a success this season, and i think many will want him back for the full season. looking forward to Saturday now, come on you sky blues, and come on Adam Armstrong, make us proud boys, lets get the win we all want, optimism is key #PUSB

Williams was on big wages at Swindon from the Di Caneo period, Williams in his early season goal glut said he was prepared to take a wage cut. Then the goals dried up and he was dropped to the bench where he was in the play off final. Swindon haven't fought to keep him.

That is the trouble with Williams he blows hot and cold as regards form. Even he describes himself as a confidence player.

To be honest I don't think he would necessarily deliver the goals you think he would.

I think this is another piece in the TM jigsaw...seems a decent player with a promising future. Now for a striker today or in next couple of weeks and we are getting there

Tudgay was on 6k pw last season, that's why baker left. Tudgay only agreed to sign if he was top paid player which baker was at the time. Baker was sacrificed for Tudgay. Turned out wrong move. As for this season I assume he would be on 3-4k pw. Not worth it in my view

So you know what Tudguy was being paid last season but then go on to assume what he's being paid this? ?

It's not hard to work out is it? Look at our budget. Tudgay was pretty quick to sign so the money must not have been far off what he was on last year.

How do you know what he was on last year? I missed that.

Also 3ķ is quite far off 6k in relative terms. #justsaying

Kiss your mother with that mouth?

So if you knew his wage last season, why don't you know it this season?

He wouldn't be on 3K a week because he wouldn't have been that when he first signed at the start of the 2014/15 season. I can imagine after the season he had it is likely that his wages either would've stayed the same or would have been reduced upon the signing of his new contract. I predict the figure would be more around the 1.5-2K mark. If he was on 3K I guarantee he would have been released to cut costs

Morris is a good signing, a technically very good player for someone of his age and reads the game well, captained England at u18-19 level in which the coaches have high hopes for him.

JFH at Burton also heaped praise on the lad during his one month 5 game loan spell at the back end of the last season.

Positive move to bring much needed competition within the midfield area, better to have someone of a certain pedigree to fall back on rather than Finch or Thomas.

The boy did well today. Looks far more suited to playing on the Right Wing and making diagonal runs in behind. He impressed me, two cool finishes.

I honestly couldn't tell you if it was a good move or not. Despite seeing him come on a few times I really couldn't tell you what he was particularly good/bad at.

Best of luck to the lad in his future career but wouldn't mind him having a bad spell at Walsall or a successful personal spell that coincides with them falling a few places

came on at Rochdale if I remember rightly (or may have started) and was absolutely woeful. Gave the ball away time and time again. Don't think he played again after that and was soon sent back
