Well done to the club for paying the additional 20% and for stating they are doing so!
It's not obligatory to do that and it doesn't appear that our friends at Wasps are doing that for their staff.
Wonder how the Telegraph will report this!?

Fair enough. If there's no work to do then no need for them to be working. Also worth highlighting the club are paying the 20% the government isn't paying so all staff will get their full salary.

Not sure furloughing is going to work out like the government expected. There's an article on the BBC site that says the Treasury expectation was for 10% of private companies to make use of the scheme but polling results give 44% of companies saying they will furlough at least half of their employees.

Fair play that no staff will lose out whether it's players or admin staff.

Let's face it, League 1 players aren't on hundreds of thousands a week.

Nope and they all have bills to pay that reflect their salaries. Excellent from the club

Time to start taxing the likes of Starbucks properly and getting zero hour workers onto proper contracts or ban those companies from trading in the UK.

You wouldn't mind if they donated 20% of their salary to the NHS, or other worthy causes.

The club should be applauded for it, hope it gets into the national media shortly.

Probably struggle to get local.

They bigged Wasps up for doing it at 80% because of no job losses but they had given players a 25% pay cut.

First tweet in 2 years as well, too obvious.

They won't be happy it puts Wasps to shame so will have to try and get people angry somehow.

just a thought does this make games behind close doors very unlikely as with no revenue coming in how could teams pay players who would be working

This is pretty much a perfect example of what the scheme was designed for. People who have no work to do. What does he think footballers are doing at the moment?

Assume they would hope to offset lost ticket revenue by opening up ifollow to domestic viewers and / or extra tv payments to allow more games to be shown.

I didn't think people could work on furlough?

Surely they can't see anything happening in the near future as they will just need to take them off again.

Yep, but that’s the players rather than the clubs. Spurs and Newcastle are shameless in this regard, but then everyone knows that Mike Ashley is a fat c...

They can't work. Think it's a minimum of 3 weeks furlough, but might be wrong.

Player have probably been sent home with instructions for training alone as they would be at the end of the season to keep their fitness up.

Most of the office staff will have nothing to do, not like we can even push season tickets for next year as we didn't have them on sale anyway and don't know what division we'll be in. If you take out the players, coaches, physios etc the club probably doesn't have that many staff.

Can someone clarify the maximum amount that an employer can claim. I thought it was £2,500 per month???

Definitely no work for your employer. Also, capped at £2500/month so some of the players will lose a chunk of wages. Mind you, the £2500 isn't too shabby.

Yeah I just meant if there was an announcement that they were needed to play again then everybody would need to be taken off again and back into training etc so it doesn't look good in the way of games being played.

It says the players won't be out of pocket so assume it's being covered?

It's a minimum of three weeks so presumably they've been told nothing is happening anytime soon and the players won't need to be back in training this month.

Article in the Telegraph about it, you can really see the difference between when it's CCFC covering the additional and when it's Wasps by the spin in the articles.

CCFC - Copy and paste of the article
Wasps - EXCLUSIVE, WASPS WONT CUT JOBS!

No credit at all. Cunts.

April was already written off though wasnt it so dont think the 3 weeks issue tells us anything new about further delays...

Although fully expecting a further delay anyway. Wimbledon being cancelled in June says a lot about what sport may happen soon.

Look at the difference in tone, Wasps heroes for not cutting jobs.

No mention of CCFC covering the difference or CCFC staff tweeting that the club are going above and beyond.
