Can someone please explain why one platform at the stadium is shorter than the other? Or is just my imagination ?
I was staying in Kenilworth the other week and got the train to the CBS for the Betis game. The return train was cancelled, so I had to get the bus . What a fuck up, it need sorting.

Its mental that we hire loads of busses to basically take you from one train station to another train stationGet the shuttle bus £5 return. No cash, card only. No singles. You need a ticket for the return journey. But more reliable than the trains. Depart from the railway station Central Six side.

I raised this point on another local forum after our first away visit to their new stadium in Nov 2011. We had stayed in Brighton for the weekend and were impressed with the setup from the station to their arena with regard to frequency speed and ease and asked why it was so pathetic at oursThe wife and I were on our way home from a weekend in Brighton last year and saw the matchday service from Brighton to Falmer; several dedicated trains going straight to and from the ground on a regular schedule, separate queues for anyone using these services so the regular passengers weren't disrupted, dedicated staff to make sure everyone got on and off the trains safely and respectfully.

Away clubs of any league use the rail network and the West coast line does not cut across the line between Leamington and NuneatonThe train has been a talking point way before the station was built. The Coventry to Birmingham is the busiest line in the whole of Europe and the Leamington to Nuneaton, which the CBS station is on has to cut across the line which would be impossible to do for just a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon. In all fairness the club have, or are trying, to upgrade the shuttle bus from the station to the ground. So all the talk of longer trains, more frequent timetable is pointless. On top of that I think the Nuneaton to L/Spa train is 2/3/ carriages and if it has more then they also need to employ more staff which is not worthwhile when it is only for a Saturday.
Obviously, the nearer we get to promotion to the premier the more the station and rail becomes an issue because away clubs will use the rail network. I live in Birmingham so when I go by train I go to Nuneaton and change there, it's slightly more expensive but the traffic (people) is lighter so there are many seats.
Oh undoubtedly they want more to cough up..It's down to the rail company to put the trains on.
But yes a bit bonkers, I can only think it comes down to cost.

Yes, also south of the station to get to the branch to Kenilworth and Leamington spa. The Leamington-Coventry-Nuneaton train tends to use Platform 2 and 4 at Coventry so at some point it needs to cross over the WCMLIt does cut across by Central Six doesn't it?

Would it? The traffic around the stadium is a nightmare already!
The worst thing about the current train setup is the occasional tantalising glimpse of how well it could work - when it works, it’s a breeze, it just hardly ever does.

You are right that all fans use them but not with the numbers that premier clubs have. There used to be short platforms/sidings at both north and south of the station on the central 6 side. The southern one used to be the parcels bay. The North one probably would have been ideal for a shuttle service to the CBS.Coventry station could probably more platforms then, there has been talk of a 5th before

Never a good location for shops so close to the City. A coach and bus station would of been better having everything togetherFrankly fuck central six off into town which needs the shops and turn all of that into a rail and bus hub with lots of residential.
You could get the shuttle from the tavernI'm staying in Earlsdon Premier Inn as im up for work doing a trade show the day after. Sounds like it might be easier to not bother with the train then... bus it is!

I get home, in the south of the city, in about 30 minutes from leaving my seatis traffic that bad once you’re away? I go towards the m6 so don’t know. Could you not let buses go while the road is closed?
