I don't know much about CBD drinks but surely it is going to get you high?

CBD does not produce a high but does have health benefits and can make you feel more relaxed and relieves anxiety and depression (could become useful if we start getting beat)!

Bit random to start selling it to everybody and anybody at a football match!

Why? It’s legal and safe and not intoxicating.

It’s not weed you know.

The amount of CBD you get in those drinks is not enough to have much (any) effect. Most of the CBD available on the high st in the UK is derived from hemp which contains virtually no THC (the good bit ;)).

The CBD used medically is usually taken from cannabis plants, via specific strains with low THC, or extracted from full plants to remove the THC. All of the (so far not very robust) research into the benefits of CBD are done using pharmaceutical grade CBC at a dose way above what you’d get from a drink (or indeed from Holland & Barrett), and if you could get it it would cost a lot. The first person legally prescribed cannabis in the UK to actually receive her product had to import it from Holland at a cost of £2500 for a month’s supply. That’s how much pharmaceutical grade cannabis and related products (like CBD) can cost.

Unless it tastes amazing, I’d save my money.

CBD is non psychoactive, but treats things such as inflamation and anxiety.

I'm in Prague at the minute and there are CBD and actual THC cannabis products available everywhere.

It's a fad that will pass soon enough. Proper CBD products that produce any effects cost an arm and a leg so a drink with a drop of CBD in it is pointless.

Its a fad!!! Pfft......its a huge disruptor for the multi-billion pound Pharmaceutical companies killing people with opiods. You need to do some research.

Haha! Yep, holland & barrett and such likes are a bit of a fad. But the component itself is a super-medicine.

It’s no fad, in 10 years time you will be able to buy full plant products (legally) in the uk IMO. The global cannabis industry is lobbying pretty hard here now and the UK market is seen as desirable (we’re a bunch of stressed, sick pot heads!). Also the money going into R&D for medical uses is increasing and more research is being done now that laws are becoming more relaxed.

The first step came last year when medical marijuana was (sort of) legalised. Once or if the evidence base is established for different conditions, the NHS might even prescribe it. It’s just a matter of time.

and....because it's been 'illegal' for so long, research has been practically impossible. But now the world is opening its eyes (reluctantly to some) details of it's immense healing properties are starting to be discovered!
