I’m just amazed how bad his distribution is for a modern keeper

He’ll be fine until Dovin is back up to speed.
If its "fine" that we're after, then what's wrong with Wilson? Like you say, he'll do until Dovin is back, but im certainly glad Brighton turned down our £5.5m offer now though. They saved us on that one!
Begs the question of the academy backroom staff at Brighton though. Didn't see any potential in Vik and let him go cheap, but have seen enough potential in a keeper that's, so far, full of errors, to turn down a hefty sum for a GK.

He's OK. I'm hoping he's one of those that will grow into the role as the season goes on and he can replicate the form shown at Swansea.

His decision making and general rationale can be a bit suspect at times. It took him 5-6 failed long pass attempts to Sakamoto yesterday to realise that it probably wasn't working which I thought was a bit bizarre.
It was the free kick at the death for me. Turned out to be the last kick of the game. Just hoofed it over everyone for a goal kick! Crazy! Like you say, lacks concentration and lacks a bit of knowledge. Seems a great reaction shot stopper. But suspect at everything else needed for a GK. A bit like Lee Burge.

This proper pissed me off. Just let Grimes have it or someone that can deliver.

The one thing i can say, though im not convinced he's any "better" than Wilson. In having him here and Wilson on the bench, means we're not 1 Wilson injury away from having to play Collins.
So although I dont think he's an improvement on Wilson, he's certainly an improvement on Collins. So for that reason, and that reason alone, he gets my vote!

You’ve already written him off after a few games?

Wilson absolutely isn’t fine and both Robins and Lampard have now brought in a new keeper instead of him being number one.

Any one else not convinced? Better than Collins sure, but Dovin for me
Sure but Rushworth is better than Wilson. Great kick on him, brave and decisive in one on ones but lacks a bit in positional sense.

Loved the half volley he did halfway through the second half (think it was a very awkward backpass from Thomas/Kitching). Like a tee shot in the golf, caught it so sweetly.

Thought his kicking was good. Not sure he can take blame for the goal. The ball he spilled. It was a brave decision to come out in the first place. Our defence has improved this season. How many shots has Rushworth had to save in the first 5 games? Apart from the goals against this season, he's not had many saves to make.

Looked this morning. 5 saves so far from 12 shots. Not a pretty start but the sample size is still tiny.

He’ll be fine enough but I’m not sure he’ll be displacing Dovin (assuming recovery goes to plan).

I have no issue with his distribution personally

He just doesn't seem to make big savesim glad we didn't spend 5.5m from what I've seen so far

But I don't think he's a bad keeper either a d prefer him to Wilson and Collins so it was a good move to bring him in

Like others I expect him to improve. We know he is capable of big saves from the betis friendly

Rushworth can get distance on his kicks but he lacks accuracy in both direction and length at the moment. I don't know if that's lack of playing time or what. He hasn't been under much in the way of real pressure yet but his weaknesses are clear, I think. He wasn't to blame for the goal, the defence was caught too square again.

I dont think our defence has improved this season at all. Its the same 4 we had for the bulk of last season with an on loan GK. What's changed is were dominating games more and the ball, in the games we've played so far, we've had the lions share of possession and kept it in the oppositions half. The little things our defence have had to do has resulted in soft free kicks, silly yellow cards, and avoidable goals!
