I’m amazed that people can’t remember how bad Wilson was in the play-offs. Dovin didn’t really do anything wrong at the start of last season either so Robins’ chopping and changing didn’t really help. Rushworth will hopefully be very good for us so let’s keep him in the team and let him grow.

I reckon he’ll end up being our number 1 all season.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that at the very least he’s a bog-standard/replacement level keeper, which is more than we could say for our GKs for most of the last few seasons. And it’s quite likely there’s more to come from him too. Would it have been good value at £5.5 million, probably not, but for a loan signing I think he’s well worth it.

Someone (think it was @HuckerbyDublinWhelan) floated the idea that he lacks concentration. Looked back and when he was at Swansea he was facing an average of 5 shots per match - until today that was 2 per match with us. It’s a slightly different skillset dependent on how busy you are and my gut feel is that he probably does struggle with concentration but there was enough coming at him today to keep him engaged.

I mentioned that same thing after the QPR game, must be difficult to maintain concentration when you've been a spectator

Its for 90 minutes! Its not like he's being asked to stand at deep extra cover for 5 days!

Yeah - was me. I was impressed with him today, first time I’ve seen a goalkeeper that is what we need. Wasn’t just the saves - he seemed more commanding

I’m hoping that this is what he needed to get going. Will be interesting to see whether he reverts back to type when we face lesser opponents. Next week is a real banana skin and we’re going to need our keeper and attacking players to be on their game

Feel like that one will sail over most people's heads! Deep midwicket preferred for me personally..

Anyone who’s knows about football and goalkeepers can see he’s a good keeper, how often did you see Collins or Wilson come for crosses and I think he would of been worth the 5 million we offered for him as he’s going to be a good keeper and will prove a lot of people wrong, you can see the centre half’s are a lot more comfortable with him behind them.

Brad Collins was MotM yesterday too. I'm sure that we can all see that he's the best thing since sliced bread now. Don't know what we were all missing, actually!

In the words of someone famous. “That’s his Job”. Personally I didn't see anything other than our goalie being a goalie (nothing spectacular)

It's kind of the point though isn't it, how many times last year did we watch goalies not do their basic job. Today he stopped everything you'd expect a championship goalie to stop. The only time I expected him to get beat was the real chance of the game where he did well made himself big and stopped it with his foot.

Yes, we should have been 1 down then. Great stop.
If it had been the other way round and Haji had failed to score that, there would have been meltdown on here from some.

Much better from Rushworth yesterday. I had more confidence in him as the game went on. Solid throughout, didn't see any flapping, kicking good and made a couple of good saves.

Appreciation post for rushworth, been absolutely solid! Look at this save from today, didn’t realise how good it actually was until the replay! Fantastic stop

Think that's unfair on Dovin, he was playing just as well before his injury

I mean I'd say Dovins distribution is better and is more commanding coming for crosses. But its a nice place to be having two solid keepers

I'm OK with a keeper who makes decent saves and can't distribute than the other way round.

Yeah I think dovin is decent and will be a good keeper in the future, just now and with his injures rushworth is the better option

Yeah also Dovin is younger and a full international, which bodes well. We have to remember Rushworth aint ours. Dont catch feelings

Both are very good but Rushworth probably has more potential to improve further, IMO.

If we go up he’ll be the first signing through the door, even seemed in his first interview that’s what he’d want

Needs to work on his distribution for sure but a very good shot stopper, shouldnt be comparing him with Dovin, as they’re both good keepers and either way whoever is number 1 we have a cracking number 2 to come in when needed

Yes he is in my opinion he is better. This guy has played 10 games for us and early on made mistakes then got better. A bit like Dovin but to dismiss Dovin like that is ludicrous.
