If he's half capable that could prove to be our most important signing of the season
We simply couldn't start with Wilson or Collins

This gives us a lot more time to get Dovin fully fit and not have to rush him back to replace one of the dropsy twins.

He throws the ball five times further than O'Hare can kick it

Chelsea didn't have a recall option on Maatsen when he was here. It's pretty common, but it's not automatic.

Most players did then as well. But it has to be included in the loan agreement. The chances are that Brighton will have included a recall option. But it's not a given.

Look forward to everyone declaring he’s shit and should never play for us again when he makes his first mistake.

Happy with this - obviously an upgrade, and clearly we still have money to play with. Was concerned originally that this could have eaten into money and a place for a more needed position.

if we can get a quick centre back, and a striker it’ll be a good window

Course they will have. If they lose a keeper before January he will be recalled for sure.

I love him talking about how we will want the 3pts desperately every game

I know that technically all clubs want that but I really do feel like we're targeting autos this year

And for the first time ever I actually think we can get promoted this year where normally I feel like getting very close and making it an exciting end to season is as far as it will go

Will be worth so many points against starting with Wilson and Collins as back up. We will now be able to take a 1 goal lead not shitting ourselves each time our opponents get forward. No more having to score 3 times to have a chance of winning.

I have nothing against Wilson and Collins personally, but we have an excellent chance of promotion this season compared to the average championship season. The best we could hope for with them for about half a season is scraping into the playoffs. With his signing I see us somewhere between 2nd and 4th. What a fantastic season we have ahead of us.

For a CF, he had a very good cross on him when he went wide.

I remember ATV midlands did a footballing piece where CF’s from midlands clubs hit a ball against a bench on its side, to see who had the most powerful shot. I think they had 5 shots each. Stein represented us, and never even hit the bench once…

I remember watching that and to be fair to Stein, who I thought was an excellent player, he had to do his stint at Highfield Road in an absolute deluge of rain. The mud was ankle deep, he kept slipping and sliding and the rain was so heavy I doubt he could see the target.

As much as I like your enthusiasm unless we sort the striker department out I can't see us making the play offs...obviously I am hoping I am drastically wrong but the likes of Asante and Basette are miles off it, god only knows what we can do with Simms so we pin our hopes on Wright Rudoni EMC and Saka for goals lets hope they're in the form of their lives

Seem to remember his shots were clocked at something very underwhelming like 59 mph

Solid signing and pleased to see doug use the loan market. Surely we will get someone from Chelsea on loan too, they have a huge squad and hopefully frank and the assistant who also coached at Chelsea can persuade a wonder kid or two to come and be part of the promotion push.

It isn't just how much stronger we now look after bringing in Rushworth. There's so many question marks against all the other sides apart from Ipswich. I certainly can't see 6 sides better than us presently although there's over a month to go of the transfer window. But we also have that same time to improve.
