Carl Baker has a radically different contract to everyone else currently at the club because he has a decent Championship level contact & pretty much everyone else is on a league one contact if that (Tudgay, Johnson and Jackson are now probably the highest earners).

Yea, people don't seem to grasp that. Pressley has already said if he stays he will get a squad number and be part of the squad, the only reason he didn't get a number is that he was set to move the day the squad numbers were announce but then the move collapsed.

I would say the opposite is true. An old fashioned supporter is someone who puts effort or perceived effort before skill.
The man who shouts and shows passion is always preferred to the one with skill and ability.
Stern John was derided by many fans but was a far far better player than baker.
Stern didn't have a sky blue tatoo though or a sky blue wedding. He didn't bleed sky blue.

Same to an extent for David bell whose stats in the championship compare favourably to baker.

@ CCFC.....Baker was told by SP he was no longer required weeks before squad numbers were to be announced, the captaincy being the first stage of railroading him out the door.........excerpt from CT 30/07/14.........The long-serving midfielder was believed to be in talks with a League One side Barnsley "AFTER" becoming surplus to requirements with the Sky Blues.
Hopefully he can be moved on asap and his minions can follow him to his next club. Meanwhile, we will be able to bring in someone better and on less money.
