Few posts on his Facebook over the past day.

"Get in there u beauty :D game wasn't the best but don't care just wanted them 3 points."

"Some people make me laugh!! Moan when we lose fair enough! Moan when we win! Wtf! Like I said yest I don't care how we played it was all about the 3 points! We've played well at times an lost I no which one I prefer! This is the minority by the way but sometimes u feel your damned if you do an damned if you don't! PUSB"

Big fan of Carl and his attitude. Happy to have him as captain. His spelling could do with a bit of work mind!

His performances as captain have been better but his crossing needs to improve (although the assist at Arsenal was great).... Keep him as skipper and leave Kilbane on the bench.

Better than always saying the wrong things Grendel.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't hey?

(I'm sensing that there was sarcasm in that post by the way)

baker is probably the best technically gifted player at the club but he's not always able to use it, he was immense against brum if he can play like that consistently he could be a top top player, i haven't seen him play while captain yet but he always says the right things

I found baker a bit frustrating at times last season but his attitude as a footballer is first class. A rarity in the game today. I think hes been one of our best performers this year and I think he'll only get better.

Most passionate player on the pitch. Spoke to him a couple times and it's a really top bloke!
He's provided I think 4 assists and 2 goals this season and as been at the heart of most of our creativity. Fair play for the hard work and passion, it's what we have lacked for years.

I don't think he is technically gifted, but he always keeps trying and is nearly always positive on the ball trying to create and go forward

Carl Baker - the thinking man's Sean Flynn.

genuine question now having a pop, wee you at the brum match? he skinned 3 of their defenders with ease about 4 times and he always got round his man.

Lets remember this was the Birmingham side that Barnsley THRASHED 5-0 and Craig Davies smashed 4 past.

That's one match - he's played nearly 100 for us. He's played well in less than 10.

I think what happened with Baker was, when he arrived, there were cries of "The next Hutch!!"

But then his form became inconsistent thanks to his family issues and his confidence to take on a player went. You can tell he loves City. I think he said once that growing up, Coventry were his second team as Sky Blue was his favourite colour and we were the only top-flight team at the time playing in Sky Blue!

Always hoped he'd rediscover the form he had in those first few matches and I'm certain that, given the Birmingham match and now getting the armband, his confidence will return and he'll become the player he promised to be. A lot (myself included) were too quick to lump him into the "David Bell" category.

Yes, I was. I like Baker but I wouldn't describe him as technically gifted though, he often lashes at his shots when in good positions. His crossing an passing is inconsistent an his ball control is patchy

I remember reading that report at the time.
Very inspirational for me.

Also it says he plays behind the striker, and he went the countries highest goal scorer... Why did we put him wide!?

That's no way way for him to be talking about the manager.

Under Coleman we played 4-4-2! No space for a CAM.

I class myself as one of the Baker/ Bell camp moaners last season. I have only missed one match this season (yes the one we won) and I have seen Carl play with passion and determination since the start. There are very few others out there who are prepared to keep fighting for the ball in a tackle when it seems a lost cause. On many of these occasions he has won the ball back through sheer grit. Others in the team take note ! He is not the most skillful player and yes his accuracy at times is lacking but he is playing some great football on the whole and we really do need him at the moment. Let him keep the Captains armband as he's earnt it and lets hope his enthusiasm and passion rubs off. :claping hands:
