brian cloughs playing days finished at HR with a broken leg as I remember
No, it was a knee injury just after his transfer from Middlesbrough to Sunderland. Was a great player Brian Clough and scored loads of goals, would of possibly been a member of the 1966 World Cup squad had it not been for that career finishing injury. The injury i believe happened just before we were about to play Sunderland in the fifth round of the F.A Cup, he didn't play and his place was taken by a youngster called Nick Sharkey, who i think scored their goal.

Spot on Rupert. Not sure whether Clough ever did play at HR although I stand to be corrected.

The memory is a strange thing isn`t it? If I`d been asked who scored the goal you mention in a pub quiz I would have also answered it correctly and covered myself in glory although I know nothing else and about him and never remember hearing him mentioned again.

North Leics…...unfortunately
My mate broke his finger from a Tommy Hutchinson shot up the training ground. He was only 12 but he never played for City after that!!!!
