I kind of agree. But you never know the state of the clubs getting relegated from the Prem. This season it was the turn of Luton.

Next season could be very interesting. Leicester? Their supporters are boycotting. They should be getting a points deduction. Their main striker qualifies for his free bus pass in a few years. Southampton? Trying to break records but all for the wrong reasons. Both sides will have to change their squads.

Would love to see Leicester fall, but they’ve got more lives than a cat that refuses to pay its suppliers.

Robins was very succesful here there's no debate , and last season fans probably gave him the benefit for reaching the fa cup semi final

Thing is for me, I had this down as a very good season and am happy with Lampard.

However, from the position we were in, we should have clearly cemented our play off place. However, we lost to Derby, Plymouth and Luton and only drew at Hull, so it's been a disappointing last few games.

Undoubtedly, for me, if we don't make the playoffs, the season will have become a failure. Just simply through the capitulation of the form and especially losing games we should have at least been expecting a point from, at the death.

Credit for failing?

Yes he failed at Wembley just after taking over. Then he failed in our first season in League 2. He failed when we went to Northampton and then Birmingham meaning we didn't have any proper home games. He failed in his wheeling and dealing which ended up with us having Gyokeres and Hamer which were sold to pay for the squad we now have. He even failed when we became League 1 champions whilst playing our home games in Birmingham.

Back to the truth. When we got relegated nobody could see a way back up. Your bias means you try to make him look like a failure. You called him a taxi season after season. I wouldn't like to think where we would be without him. Calling him a failure when he took us from League 2 to losing on penalties to get to the Prem just isn't true.

I recently gave a theory on what I think has happened and why he’s done it. Drilling the players in just one system so they properly understand what they’re doing, which will naturally come unstuck against well prepared opposition but do fine against certain styles regardless.

Over summer the same work goes in to another system and that problem is solved

Were the same as WBA Millwall Norwich Boro Bristol Sunderland. If we start slowly we could sack our manager. We have failed off. These are all traits of play off chasing sides in the Championship of which we are one. If a team breaks away like Ipswich it Sunderland it’s usually an element of fluke or a ton of cash. And Wrexham and Birmingham will almost certainly outspend Plymouth and even on the same spend could likely attract better because of their hype.

Strongly disagree. I’m obviously biased, the league table doesn’t lie and we’ve been better than all the teams you’ve listed since Lampard has come in. If we keep our main players and add to it, there’s no reason we can’t build on this.

WBA since Corberan has left have been operating at near relegation form (0 aways wins since he’s left). Norwich will have their best players poached this summer and are a club on the decline but could see them to rebuilding to be honest. Millwall are the least equipped to contend with the playoffs of the teams mentioned. As for Boro, they’ve been regressing steadily since 22/23. Bristol is a tricky one, they have the resources to build on this season but their results have outperformed the data metrics and that’s not typically a good sign.

We’ll see about Birmingham and Wrexham, it’s too early to judge. I just don’t but the hype yet hut will be looking forward to those away days.

You fundamentally doubt Lampard and that’s fine, but it explains how you’re inherently sceptical of anything good that we do.

We had another system and it gave us our best spell of the season.
It should have been used in at least a couple more of our away games recently.

They may be on their 9th life because the EFL may move to impose a ‘sustainable business plan’ on them which means gutting their squad.

I’ll reserve judgement because we thought Sheff U may struggle and they signed lots of players on fees/big contracts and spent the season in the top 3.

By your own admission Simms has not performed. BTA and Bassette were strange signings. EMC delivered nothing under Robins. The one effective player as a forward was injured when Lampard arrived.

Robins refused to play Kitching and had no back up RWB and a poor signing at LWB. We managed to get Grimes as another failed signing - Palmer - refused to stay.

There is a strong case to make that once Viveash left the cracks became a chasm and he was taking the club backwards

Maybe. But I see it differently.

He loves to play a high line. He is happy for our defenders to attack. But this plays into the hands of the sides that pack their side of the pitch then play the long ball over the top of our defence e.g. Plymouth. Also it doesn't work well when playing against the better sides with better players. They are good at defence splitting passes.

I suppose it could be a bit of both.

The reason 5-3-2 worked so well is because the midfield 3 complemented each other perfectly. Torp and Rudoni played so high and wide, they were operating like an LM and RM up the pitch at times. A midfield trio of Grimes-Sheaf-Rudoni fundamentally alters that system.

It also ignores the games where we were lucky to get a result. Away games like Sheff W, Swansea, Blackburn where there were times we were open and could’ve conceded first.

Yeh we were very comfortable in those games overall. I do recall Dovin making some strong saves in a lot of the games we won that could have changed the direction of a game. Not saying that's lucky, its what you want from your keeper and what recruiting a good keeper gets you but i do wonder if we win all those games with Collins in the net like we have now? In fact i'm pretty sure i know the answer

Though I think two games where we really got the tactics wrong were Sheff U and Plymouth and I think he was not culpable in the former (obviously), and not as culpable as the defence in the latter
