Isn't the Adams 8th placed finish a bit misleading (not only for the 12 pts off the play offs), didn't we have a good end of season bit of form against other teams who were already on holiday so to speak, which skewed the picture a little?

Any man that plays James Scowcroft as a winger probably shouldn't be a manager.

Blues must be mad.... the only way he'd come here is as someone said "bundled into the back of a van" ha ha.

I guess some people never went to the last home game of the season, against Cardiff City. Probably up there alongside the Cup game against Brum when Edje had "Marlon" in his arse pocket... I digress.... The game against Cardiff was played in a hard fought manner and City beat them 3-1 with a fabulous strike from Wise. Cardiff hit the post and dominated the last 20 mins. A great game of football, but then........................

That game was probably the last time the team deserved the end of season walk, wave and clap... good game, good atmosphere.

i rmemeber that game, me and my mate got in late and thought we were 1 down or drawing(i cant rember which) and were getting frustarted with team. then we realised we were winning and all of a sudden we werent playing so bad lol

good expirement about how scorelines influences perception of playing well.

maybe thats why i changed and stuck with mowbray despite results.

Blues must be mad or certainly their owners are, looks like a job for Nigel Pearson as Sven is busy stealing a living in China

In a big money division did a great job with limited resources.
seriously you have to wonder what some of these owners are about.

Gary Rowett has left Birmingham, mental he's turned them right around. Now if we bundle him into the back of a van and force him to sign a contract is that legally binding?
Would be a great appointment if we could do it he has done a great job at Birmingham ,cant understand why he has lost his job there.

He does seem to have shown some real ability in his short managerial career, will be aiming higher than here though,I expect.
Think Steve82s analysis of what's needed here is still the more apt to where we are.

What manager won't be aiming higher than us?

Doesn't look entirely performance related does it, more about status as they appear to have already identified Zola as their target.

I've looked through a list of potential names and a few names I'd consider with the aim of ideally survival or worst case to rebuild the club on the playing side with league 2 in mind.

Russel Slade, no relegation on his cv....I've said enough about him.. has to be the top pick! He's my vote should he want the job of course....

Paul Tisdale, been at Exeter City since 2006, 2nd longest serving manager behind Arsene Wenger. Done wonders on a shoestring year after year, relying on free's and loans. Compensation required tho, and would he want to leave Exeter for this mammoth task

Gary Johnson, currently at Cheltenham. Been around and enjoyed plenty of success at Yeovil, Bristol city and more recently Cheltenham tho. Compensation required again.

David Flitcroft, recently sacked by Bury. But did save them and also get them promoted. Available, so a cheap option.

John Coleman. Mr Accrington stanly, experienced, works to a tight budget and achieved minor success reaching playoffs. Compensation required, tho likely minimal.

Ronnie Moore, been around donkeys years, seen and done most of it. Enjoyed success with Rotherham with back to back promotions, Free and available currently.

• A few names that could also be branded that are out of work ...
Kevin Blackwell
Micky Mellon
Sean O'Driscoll
Gary Caldwell
Alex Rae
Paul Dicov
Peter Taylor

• Ex CCFC players/managers that won't cut it...
Micky Adams
John Eustace
Sam Ricketts
Steve Ogrizovic
Colin Cameron
Stuart Pearce

• I fear we could end up with.....
Dave Hockaday
A foreign manager never tried in English football.

• Who I doubt would even entertain us..
Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink (as we no)
Steve Cottrell
Dean Saunders
Alan Stubbs
Nigel Pearson
Dougie Freedman
Brian McDermott
Nigel Adkins
Mark Robins
That's 30 minutes of your life you are never getting back. :(

Typical clueless foreign owners getting rid of an up and coming English manager to replace him with a foreign failure with a name from his playing days.
