Imagine taking glee from a defeat?!

As mentioned earlier, I've been to 3 games in the last month but don't let facts get in the way of delusion.

This forum controls team performance and results. That is a fact now and you have highlighted that here and I for one hadn’t realised, so thank you.

I think some dismissing Wrexham and parkinson were trying to prove they understand the game or tactics etc and it's proved the opposite.

Even their own fans didn’t give them a chance, but with so many changes that result isn’t a surprise, I’d be more worried if it had happened with MVE, thomas da silva and torp starting,

People can 'dismiss' a team or manager based on them playing poorly and us being unbeaten, scoring goals for fun and having a good team.

It's not arrogance but confidence. No one can ever use the word arrogance with Coventry City. It's not as if we've got lots of success to back up any arrogance.

It's embarrassing how some seem to revel in defeat.

I'm guilty as charged of being overconfident. It was hardly based on a whim or arrogance though.

Saying you think your team will win isn't dismissing your opponents.

For last nights game Wrexham have one of the worse defences in the Championship. We have the best attack in the Championship. We had only conceded 2 goals in the last 6 games. Wrexham had lost at home midweek to Cardiff when we had a rest. Even the Wrexham supporters expected to lose. We're top of the table and were undefeated with a quarter of the season gone.

If you're not supposed to think you can win a game where everything looks in your favour you might as well give up because most of the time things don't look in your favour. It isn't much fun expecting a defeat every game other than for those who do it for effect.

I think most who thought we would win last night probably thought Thomas, Torp, Dasilva would be in the team. I think everyone probably had to rub their eyes at least once when they saw the team but you back the boys anyway.

There were lots predicting 4-0. 5-0 talking about Wrexhams team like it was shocking when in reality they have a lot of good Championship players.

This is why I hate predictions. It eventually comes back to bite you.

I'm sure if Sheffield United lose today, people will once again predict easy wins! In reality, we've got two very difficult games this week.

Its not even the fact its a prediction. Its just that posters like that have no concept of nuance, and just think "we won last game therefore 5-0" without really considering the difficulties of individual games.

They have a mediocre Championship team, like I said any away game against a middling Championship team is tough. I fancied us but when you have 5 starters out a tough game becomes a very tough game. I'm not surprised at the result given the team although I still think Lampard could have done a couple of things differently.

The fact of the quality of their team is irrelevant really. Players like Moore, Windass and Obrien can catch you unawares if you dont prepare. Lots of people dismissed them and it came back to bite them in the arse.

Agreed. I predicted 3-1 to us. We scored 2 goals.

I'm pretty confident that with Thomas, Da Silva and Torp starting, we'd cut them off better than we did and have more control.

Given our form in the previous 12 games, a 3-1 prediction wasn't outlandish or arrogant.

But that's all it is. A prediction.

I think we will beat Sheffield United. We sound like we will be nearly back to full strength. We're against a side with 9 points from 12 games. We're at home where we have an excellent record under Lampard. Having MVE back instantly makes us a better side.

I fancy us to beat the Blunts but that's based on 4 players missing yesterday playing on Tuesday. I'm hoping I don't have another shock reading the team sheet. Bidwell is cooked and Allen should be used very very sparingly.

Yes I'm getting at the oracle.

This is harder for Lampard than maintaining a winning run, changing something that hasn't worked. Although all signs so far from his tenure show he can do it.

I don't think they will. Birmingham might but they need to show more than they have been. It's just opinions though, it really doesn't matter.

It is one thing to be confident - we should be - but it has veered into arrogance for some. There were many who were absolutely convinced we would win last night, not confident, certain. Throwing out stats and rolling their eyes at any suggestion it might be a game where we came unstuck.

I'm never certain we'll beat anybody. On Tuesday I am confident we can turn it round. Will I be surprised if we're beaten? Not massively.

This team has dips in form in it. We know that, it's pretty much exactly the same squad as last season. We're doing brilliantly, but some people are getting carried away to the point of being cocky.

Midtable is literally a mediocre Championship team
People will argue about anything. Hardly flying until an injury ravaged CCFC came to town were they.

Mediocre means not very good. I don't think of midtable teams as not very good personally.

I'm not sure what your point was? It's like some people have never seen the championship before
