same team if nazon is fit

subs wise im not sure howm uch impact players we have if we are chasing a goal, biamou and stevenson really only? and stevensons injured i think. not sure what DKE can do really. ponticelli on bench is good though

lets hope we stay healthy and ill take a draw

1-1

Putting it out there, but could we see Biamou and Nazon starting together as the front two? Yes they didn't look great together against Blackburn but that wasn't Duck's fault. I just feel like we might as well give Biamou a run in the team, he's got to be at least as likely to score and play well as Beavon.

I know it's really tough and Davies played really well, but I think you have to put McDonald back in there. For me he's our best player and an inspiration to those around him.

Would you drop Beavon for this one?

No.

I would if McNulty was fit, but he's not. Would stick with Beavon and Nazon.

Beavon will never score goals. It's funny as you often criticise stokes for passing yet as robins points out his defending is rock solid - no one gets past him but Beavon makes a couple of assists a year and one goal and it's fine.

He's the new Robert Rosario

I recall once only. Where do you get 'often' from.

Big Stokes fan, me, just think he's not quite the same player this season.

Beavon helped set up 4 chances last night. Can't blame him for the chances not being taken.

As much as I do like Beavon, his lack of goals is starting to get ridiculous. He's scored once in the league for us since his debut back at Christmas despite playing in nearly every game since then.

Apparently Biamou is an even worse trainer than Nazon
There's a worry he won't last 45 minutes if he starts let alone 90
I reckon he'll continue as sub but may get a start in a Checkertrade game to see how long he lasts

For all of those amongst you who care, Beavon's record for us is:
18 league starts plus 3 sub appearances - 2 goals
3 starts and 2 sub appearances in EFL Trophy / EFL Cup - 1 goal (a shot going well wide until it was wickedly deflected in by a Wycombe player)
Total 21 starts, 5 sub appearances, 3 goals.

That's not just bad, that's Darko Pancev at Inter Milan bad.

I have to disagree, i think he creates space and problems up top. He also makes opportunity's if (due to injuries) we have to start duck or Biamou or even ponti. We need Beavon up there with them. IMO

Fair point, it is a team game and as long as we win then it's the team result that counts....if he contributes to that without scoring then he's still worthwhile. MR seems to think so anyway. However at the same time it's worth point out that, for a striker, his hit rate is pretty low...

Makes you wonder what'll happen if we get a peno on Sat....I presume Jones would take it?

Useless fact of the day - this will be our first ever league game against Cambridge United (#SHFWF)

Anyone know if Nazon is now injured after last night?

He's got very close the last two games to be fair. Two good saves, one in each match.

I'm sure we all wish he'd chip in a bit more. Even 10 goals from him would be great.

As I said to smiley, if we win it doesn't matter which individuals score because it's a team game and it's the overall scoreline, not individual scorers, that count. But when the going gets tough, as it did last season, you need your 32-year old striker who has been swapped in for your top scorer to bail you out of situations and he rarely did. The point is that it looks like if we're forced to rely on him as our main source of goals, at point we are approaching with injuries, we'll be in bother.

Never a great goal scorer agreed, but provided plenty of assists for Ndlovu and Quinn. We sold him and our goals seem to dry up that season.

Anyhoo, 2-1 for City if he keeps the same team as Tues.

I disagree - 2 powder puff shots, which had about the power of Jodi Jones right foot

The mighty Cambridge have a win, draw and loss in their 3 home league games so far, scoring only 2 goals in the process.
No idea what our team will be whether any injuries will clear in time but both teams seem tight at the back and struggle to score goals.
Obvious threats for them are Ibhere and Ikpeazu but I see both defences on top. Head says 0-0, heart says 0-1.

One was weakly hit, the second not and the keeper made a good save.

I would very much not call that powderpuff.

Disagree, I thought he was a good target man, team player with a lot of assists for the two aforementioned above.

Beavon is a busy player chases back and makes a nuisance of himself with the oppositions back 4 - he also has experience - i would like to see Nazon / Beavon to start - Davies was good but he will be knackered - he did good for me - Macdonald to return

I thought he was effective when he switched to the deeper(midfield) role.
Where did Forest play him and how did he get on there after leaving us.
Did we get a fee, and, did we make a profit over what we signed him for?
Sorry!
So many questions, such a short memory span.B-)

If you think his role is to score goals, you're missing the point. His role is very much to enhance the team, to bring other players into the game and to press defenders and so on. A poor man's Heskey if you will. The guy got player of the year for Burton in the 14/15 season (L2 Champs), scoring a colossal 5 goals in 40 odd appearances.

I think his goals, or lack of, becomes a problem when he's partnering players who are short of goals. Nazon got a goal, Jones is doing well but I think McNulty (when fit) and Biamou need to get some goals sooner rather than later, especially with Andreu out.

I think we'll get another clean sheet, and a 1-0 to make it a hat-trick of wins.

Same set up as Tuesday, and I fancy one of Jones or Nazon to get the goal, or maybe a new goalscorer.

Ikpeazu is utter shite.

Honestly. Awful.

Now bound to score...

Trying to remember, wingy!
Dunno where Forest played him, but he wasn't effective for them....Cloughie's last ever signing is what I do remember and they went down.
I think we made a loss on him going to Forest too.
