I suppose the romantic in me thinks maybe as it's 6 months he might fancy trying to win a league medal at his home town club. I can't see how we work the financial side of things but I think if it was me I'd be tempted, I mean you can't hang Saudi money above the mantle piece... Might buy you a nicer one I guess but deferring a sunset move to MLS or Saudi for 6 months and potential glory might be an attractive option

And this is how we've approached it I'm told. And it has him genuinely considering it

But as we all know financially we wont be at the top of the food chain unfortunately

Come and play for us for 20 games till the end of the season on a short term deal with an option in his favour for 1 year on the prem if we make it. Either way he decides to stay or let him go to MLS or Saudi. Would be massive for him to help us be promotion.

Oh of course not, but when hes been on a heavily incentivised contract for the last 6 months, which has now been paid up, youd imagine hed be angling for a Saudi move or MLS

As i say, there's definitely talks happened and definitely a chance, it will all come down to his head or heart
I definitely see the financial appeal regardless - I’m thinking from my heart hoping that he can wait 6 months or so

He still takes a keen interest in the club. I've seen him at games.

He wouldn’t be playing 90 mins ever. But what a bench option / half a game rotation option it would be.

Four goals and an assist in the Prem this year averaging a goal/assist every 200 mins, in the smelliest West Ham team for years. If he comes to us he’s getting 6-10 goals in just cameo appearances imo.

The type of signing that puts other clubs in the league on notice that we’re not messing about this year.

Clearly not the player he was 2/3 years ago but I can’t believe people are turning their nose up to
a signing like this. A 50% Wilson still would get 10+ goals from now til the end of the season.

The 33-year-old wants to continue playing regular first-team football and is not keen on accepting a peripheral role.

Maybe he would drop a league to play more?

I learnt a lot from the Blues game about benches and impact, we brought on Wright and Andrews while Blues brought on half a fresh team with experience and impact, that is what we need. On our day our team can beat anyone but as we see it's not teams that win games, it's squads and ours in not capable. What we seem to be doing today is bringing in players that can be on the bench and with 30 minutes to go can change matches, whether DK bringing in some signing as well we will see but these inclusions make our bench look better.

Me too I bumped into him a few years back near block 36, had a little chat and he obliged with a photo with my lad
I spoke to him at the end of season do before he left, what a really nice guy genuinely down to earth...we could let the yank go and fund him that way and still make a profit

Can see him at Celtic coming in for him.

Other premier league teams will as well but what a fucking signing it would be. His pace set him apart when he was with us but his finishing was excellent. Some experience in the front line is much needed but I’m doubtful this will happen.

They were talking about Wilson on Talksport at the weekend and why he couldn’t get in the woeful West Ham team.

Evidently Wilson struggles to run in behind teams now. His pace has gone and certainly over any distance so Nuno has encouraged him to come short more, link the play etc but it’s not his natural game. This has led to frustration on both sides, hence the parting of the ways.

Wilson started the season hoping to convince Tuchel to take him to the World Cup.

Jan looks much better with the Esse, YMH and BTA coming back.

Same as PNE, Southampton and both Ipswich games. All these teams could bring on 5 subs and the quality was pretty similar. We got good striker options but no wingers or AMs to rotate. KKH, Wolf, Lati are all good players for their respective roles but as defenders, will rarely be game changers.

Even with 10 men, PNE brought on 3-4 players (a few first teamers from 24/25) and it immediately turned the tide. There is no circumstance we could make 3 changes at once like that. This is a point I’ve raised consistently all season and even games that we won (like Blackburn), there were signs we were running out of ideas before a sudden break through.

Perhaps after Jan, we can have a well rotated team and be able to change games quickly with 3-4 subs in one hit.

We have had posters upset that we may be signing players that it is going to take away time from the rest of the squad.

Wilson would be a signing where he realises he cant play 90 minutes every game, would be happy playing 60-90 minutes every 2 games and would add a vast amount of experience, quality and feel good factor.

For me its a no brainer if he can agree to a 6 month deal.
