Presumably weren’t willing to pay £2 million for the privilege. Nor will a good number of Championship clubs because it’s too big a chunk of their budget.

£2m is cheap for a young league one player with Championship experience.

Neither. He's not Gus but he's a very good player. Would be very happy to bring him in. He's better than Eccles is currently. Suspect we'll bring 2 central midfielders in anyway.

In the market I agree, but looking at the spending at most clubs in the division that fee would be a high %. Boro for example have only really spent on that keeper from QPR.

Release clause allegedly. Transfermarkt value him at 3.5m.

What is really needed is a midfielder that can score goals. There is a massive hole there. Sheaf/eccless/Kelly wont score many.

Even our attacking midfielders
Palmer/o hare are not prolific...allen is ok ish.

We need a goal scoring midfielder ( wont come cheap).

Mad that I see us as a better prospect than Watford now. Like, it shouldn't be mad, but from where we've come from these last few years.

If true, slightly underwhelmed , but does have experience of the league. Can’t believe he’s only 23! I suppose in that respect , plenty of time to develop and fits the mould. Willing to give him a chance

Outside the relegated clubs (and we beat Leeds to van Ewijk) there’s not many teams I’d join ahead of us if I was a young ambitious player at this level.

Equally you do not want to be so reliant on one or two players to win you games. That has undone us the last 2 seasons.

Not if we have 3 forwards who are scoring, last year we only really had one.

Im not bothered about the fact he’s a L1 player, just want to know why if he’s decent and young no one has activated such a low release clause. Didn’t Millwall have him on loan? Why didn’t he stay?

Why didn't Swansea want Gyokeres?

It's all about horses for courses, is he better than what we have in reserve?
Does he fit our style of play? Can we develop him? etc etc.

Styles has more experience than Eccles for example, he's played at international level, and is a similar age.

I'd say 2million is a good price, and he looks ready for a step up. (Imho)

Fine is he’s the number two, but doesn’t exactly scream ready made Hamer replacement.

Everyone's in for everyone according to Alan Fucking Nixon, when will you people learn.

He's a sports writer, his job is filling column inches with gossip not telling the truth!

True we played box midfield last year one up front.

Completely different this year so far.

Palmer and Ohare will need to up their game in terms of goals.

For someone to come in to replace a £15m player it is! I’m just asking why no one has taken a punt. I didn’t realise he was your mum and you’ve take offence.

If you don’t know anything about him just leave it for those that do and get back to hate wanking over my profile.

We aren't going to be able to replace like for like we need to get over that.

Why did milwall pass this guy over??

I’d rather a standout midfield signing than a couple of functional players

in robins we trust he knows what he’s doing

I dont think we need a replacement. As alluded to we are playing differently this year.

Let's face it midfielders who do the double dont grow on trees .

It's a whole different set up and game this year.

The Millwall fans rated him highly. Trouble is they can’t spend 2m on a player unless they sell someone like Flemming

We definitely need another midfielder though, even if it isn't a like for like replacement.
I expect to see someone in in the next week or two.

I liked him when I saw him played a couple of years ago against us.

Was on loan at Millwall last season, 1 goal and 1 assist in 22 games.

And he's 5ft 6in. Couldnt we try and get in a couple of taller players

Can you imagine with a few injuries

Not many clubs in the championship spend that sort of money on transfer fees, it's only (but not exclusively) really the parachute clubs and clubs like us with a transfer windfall
