Does it not occur to you that other teams might be looking for this mythical Bellingham lite figure and many teams in this division have considerably more funds than we do?

Yep that is the main concern, teams like Leeds or Burnley etc will be searching too and also have more money so they can offer better wages. I think the only thing we can do to overcome it is better scouting, we need to scout further and wider than we’ve ever scouted before

That’s a good idea tbf, I’m sure many have that set up on my name I always feel like I’m quite fair with people and never start an argument for the sake of it, don’t think I’ve ever singled anyone out on here tbf but for some reason people love having a go

Maybe not every idea I’ve suggested is amazing but you’ve got to think outside the box once in a while. I remember last season being one of the few people on here calling for 4 at the back from the very start and I got absolutely slated for it week after week, some real nasty comments tbf and now look at us, all the better for playing 4 at the back. Obviously not claiming I had anything to do with it, there’s clearly no connection between me and Robins, but sometimes a thought that can seem mad is the solution you’re looking for, and I don’t claim to be the messiah or anything I just don’t know why people have a go at me every week

Yep, and then there’s the interminable feeling to justify your opinions, but meh. Let reality be that justification.

Ignore, ignore, ignore; that’s my new SBT motto.

I literally said I wasn’t in that previous comment, I’ve played Fifa in the past but I’m shit at it unfortunately
I just think that’s probably the best way of describing what I’m trying to get across. Someone with Bellingham’s “stats” but just all knocked down by 20-30%, the key thing is the pattern/balance of those stats remain the same but they’re all reduced to a championship level, that’s what I’m trying to get across (unsuccessfully ). Anyway it’s all a load of waffle at this stage so I’ll leave it there you’ll all be pleased to know

How on earth are we supposed to scout players no one else is scouting?

Your delusional to think we can get an extra 25-30 points on last season in one transfer window. That would be a circa 40% increase on last season. We would need to spend 50-75 million to do it and we clearly aren't doing that. A dose of realism required I think.

Why ? Ipswich were promoted with the team that finished 2nd in league 1.. we wouldn't need to spend 50-75 mill for promotion at all , we are 5th favourites for promotion as of today

I don’t claim to know anything about the scouting process, and never have done, I’m simply suggesting the type of player I’d personally like us to add to the squad, that’s all. I’m not suggesting someone in particular, just the type of characteristics I’d like us to concentrate on.

I also assume not every team can scout every player in the world? Surely it’s not possible for every team to have a scout “file” on every player that’s playing in every league across the world right now? Maybe that is case, but I’m not a scout so I can’t say either way.

Very good point tbf, I didn’t think of Ipswich, if they did it why can’t we? It’s entirely realistic for us to aim for automatics, and if we’re not aiming for that then what are we actually doing?

I realise we may not get into the prem this year or next year or the year after that but if we never set ourselves that goal then we’ll never get there. We’ve got to be optimistic and presume we’re good enough to get there, let’s show some swagger, we’re Cov City, let’s show them fuckers who they’re dealing with

Fair enough.

up front the player I'd like would be Mbappe-lite. Or a bit like one of the German forwards of yesteryear. A Muller-lite

I think we get 4 or 5 more players , we then have the depth to compete mid to late season

Now you’re getting it Although I prefer a Muller corner if I’m honest, particularly the one with the chocolate bits in

Obvs I know you’re taking the piss but I think the “player X”-lite thing sorta makes sense if you take it with a pinch of salt. Like for Mbappe-lite I’m thinking quick, good dribbler, cuts inside, not really good at playing attacking mid but is a great winger, good balance, agile etc. For instance, the mental picture I form when someone says Mbappe-lite is different to the mental picture I form when someone says Foden-lite, both are similar but there’s considerable differences to their play at the same time.

A Muller corner would be an improvement on an Eccles one.

Instead of a Bellingham lite, can we aim for an O'Hare plus.

I assume tomorrow we should know about Browne (possible incoming) and O’Hare (definitely off but where to) as they are both out of contract as of 1at July?

They might be out of contract tomorrow. But nothing to say they have to make their mind up on a new contract tomorrow.

Does the 30 June mean the start of a new FFP year for the Championship like it does the Prem? Anyone know?

Well they will have June pay in the bank to play with. Then while they work their first month at a new club awaiting their first months pay, they will get a big fat signing on fee to bridge the gap. I can't see Browne or O'Hare feeling under pressure to rush.

They will probably need to get a temporary job in 'Spoons until they have their formal interviews and job offers.

They had great momentum, expensive loans and the stars aligned for them much like when Leicester won the league. They will be relegated next season and won't yoyo back up IMO.
I did say the jump from 5&6 to 1&2 is enormous. Yes we could do it just like I could pull Pamela Anderson. Both unlikely to happen even if I had 50-75 million.

It wouldn't cost us 50 - 75 mill to get promoted , not sure where this figure has been plucked from

expecting a post from the social media team about his departure today.

Has been a great player for the club. Without our sky blue rose tinted glasses - if you could double your salary elsewhere you all probably would.

Has been a real fan favourite, thanks COH
