By our standard of living yes but not for him and the designer life that he wants and choose to live and maybe to help his family and others with the greater money.
I suspect we wouldn’t give a 4 year deal or the signing in fee at the rumoured level.

Allen did really well in our playoff season and was my motm a few times in crucial games (don’t ask me to name them). Last season was obviously a bit of a ‘write off’ for him and I think it’s going to be tough for him to get back in the side.

I think Allen will benefit from a move to 433 more than Palmer.

Look .. reality

Cal has been a part of our rise up , these particular players are a bit closer to us emotionally than players like callum ball or even new players atm like bobby thomas .

Reality is when they reject the club it feels like they rejected us too .. and we struggle to see past our own wants .

Therefore we call him a little midget brummy c**t when he leaves but we might not mean it , honestly

MR wanted O'hare to stay, C.O. was on £10k a week and DK offered £11k which was instantly rejected. The offer eventually got increased to £12k a week take it or leave it, but by that time O'hare's agent had received offers from other championship sides of double that offer so the club were informed that CO was leaving. (This all happened before Rudoni was signed)

Apparently AV was fuming that we hadn't made an effort to keep O'hare, and he and DK had a blazing row, DK said that we'd paid O'hare a fortune over the 12 months that he was injured and was reluctant to end up in a Jodie Jones situation.

If that's true then I don’t blame O'Hare for moving on, even to a shit club like Sheff Utd. If we only offered him 12K a week it's not gonna be acceptable when he can get twice that much there. Can't see any need for bitterness towards him for leaving, the club obviously didn't want him enough.
I think he's been brilliant here since he came back from injury and the fans loved him. He's given us some great memories but now he's gone and we've replaced him with younger and better. Good luck Cal and goodbye

Fancy wanting to be coached by Wilder rather than working on becoming a better midfielder with George Boateng.

Yes, it has to be money as Sheff Utd is a backward step.

Sheffield utd have made some good signings - O'Hare, McCallum and Kieffer Moore.

Don't think it's as bad a move as some are making it out to be.

Look he ended up at Sheff Utd as they were the highest club in the pyramid to offer him a deal - I think he thought that offers from PL clubs would be flying in his direction left right & centre but as I’ve said before Callum thought he was a better player than he actually is.
Think he lumped himself in the same bracket as Vik & Gus and on that basis thought that a big move was inevitable.
I can see Sheff Utd clogging their way into the play-offs at best however think Callum will have a few more years in the Championship now as a result of this move.

You and a few others have talked about the way he left. Other than rumours about what he had and hadn't been offered, and when offers had been made, what did he do or say that lacked grace? Genuine question.

Any team with Hamer, O'hare and Moore in it is going to have a great chance of getting in the playoffs. And the blades are still actively recruiting.

I'd say he's made a sideways move, but more than doubled his money.
I'd like them to get automatically promoted by finishing 1 place below us

It's very Wilder type Championship signings. They have had success with their style but I think its dying out tbh, Wilder is a bit of a dinosaur.

I'll wait and see what team Sheffield Utd start the season with. Some on here can say we're playing them down but it's balanced by those playing them up. Based on what I see atm... Still shit.

im just being overly sassy, but when viktor and hamer did they both did videos to the fans, thanking them etc, but he just posted some videos of his highlights, would have assumed he would follow in the same way.

Is he? his tactics in their first season up totally flummoxed a series of supposedly more progressive clubs.

What he is in danger of is falling into the trap that McCarthy etc fell into, in managing clubs that just aren't good enough to compete in the top flight but he gets them there against the odds, so is being unfairly judged as being unable to manage in the top flight when they meet their inevitable demise - frankly for them to finish as high as they did ther first season up with him was an astonishing achievement.

Consider if we bounced up and down a couple of times, that wouldn't autmatically make Robins unable to handle the higher level.

It was until the return of football after covid when opposition coaches nullified it by pushing up on the central defenders. The rest of their game tactically was to boot the hell out of the opposition

Admittedly he came back to them when they were struggling, but what progression did they make under him after his return last season?

Read on this thread that blades fans think they've done us over coupled with that caption and him wearing his glasses when he signed shows why it's a shit house club.

I hope when Dovin signs, in the media video he picks up the same glasses, looks at them then looks at the camera, shrugs his shoulders then throws them away.

But from what I hear it’s not into the flash life. He lives at home with his parents still and drives an older Audi or something similar. Apparently he’s not flash. If he’s been offered /M but £30K a week you can’t blame him.

I guess some of the vitriol comes from a place of broken loyalty, I suppose. Perceived, anyway.

The club stood by him during a particularly difficult recovery from an ACL, he came back, played his tits off for 10 games, and fizzled out - personally, I believe this departure could be a blessing in disguise, as not only has it freed up wages, but it allows the likes of Torp and Rudoni to shine.

Palmer, meh, maybe. I just feel he’s one of those that will plateau for another couple of years, development wise, and tail off. Back up, at most.

Torp and Rudoni are significant upgrades on COH and Palmer, IF the former finds his feet at this level. He could be a pivotal player for us, as I’m sure Rudoni will be.
We will miss COH because he adds some unpredictability and trickery to our attacking play, especially around the box.
Not sure if Rudoni can do that as well. Obv that's not Torp, who may not even make the first 11.
