And hopefully that would mean him staying.

More than likely yes unless the player announces he intends to leave then we would have to drop our asking price to prevent discontent in the dressing room

Of the three O'Hare is (I suspect) the most likley to still be here. The other two fill obvious slots and are more rounded players particularly Hamer. We know C O'H has flaws - in front of goal - and that might make other clubs higher up the League less keen on him. More fool them.

Although looking another way, the manager confident he can coach goalscoring into O'Hare will have got themselves an absolute bargain.

Its immaterial whether Gyokeres is actually worth £15m or not. The actual selling price will be dependent on the balance of power between the buyer and the seller. If we have to sell to stay financially afloat then we are in a weak position to command a big fee. Likewise if there is only one interested club. The attitude of the player/ agent also comes into it because if they are agitating for a move then we might have to accept less also. On the other hand if we as the selling club feel able to hold out the selling price goes up. In this instance Gyokeres still has 2 years left on his contract so there isn't an immediate need to cash in, which should help boost his price. If we make it clear and believable that we are not interested in selling (which I hope we do), then it forces potential buyers to dig deeper than they might want to.

This comes down to the player I think. He’s under contract and chance of him going for free is nil so it’s down to whether vik is happy or trying to engineer a move or whether Sisu would want £4-5 million.

IF he is happy and we are not desperate financially (assume we are not) then we call the shots and not settle for anything less than what a 17 goal championship striker is worth. Look at recent past transfers and it’s easily £15M +

I'd happily extend his contract now and make him our best paid player.

That would hinder us strengthening the team for next season. It's a fine balancing act, and glad I don't have MR's job, as I'd be a wreck trying to keep together a bunch of players that we have all invested emotionally in. That said we all know our heroes move on. and new ones emerge (McNulty is a recent example of a hero who left, and yet we prospered)

I doubt Gyorkeres will rock the boat to leave, in my opinion he needs another year here he’ll find it tougher next season bit of a surprise package this season and opposition will do their homework on him, but I think he’ll be fine.

I doubt that any of our big players are actively looking to leave
The problem comes once an interested club from higher up the pyramid sets out the personal terms to the player's agent
Any of us in the same position would be tempted however much we love the club and fans
We are in a pretty strong position with them all on fairly long contracts but as fans have to be realistic
Even if we don't want to sell once a player sees what's on offer personally it can become counter-productive to insist they see out their contract

If Fulham came in and made a big offer would be difficult to turn down as they spending wise a big club.the club would need to hold out for 15 million plus.

But you are judging him on what he is now and not at the time of being sold. He scored 22 in the Championship (5 more than Gyokeres), the season he was sold.

Gyokeres could well be out of his depth in the Premier League end up the next McBurnie and we’ll be laughing at what we got for him! See also Adam Armstrong
