Callum Ball on loan? (1 Viewer)

Bit of talk on a Derby forum that the Keogh deal includes us getting Callum Ball on loan for the season.

What would we make of that?

He's a big lad, did well when we played at their place last year. As with any striker we're ever linked with, his goalscoring record isn't great, but may score goals at a lower level?

Working in Derby i know there fans really rate him, and probably would want to keep him so will see what happens i guess, he does fit the replacing Platt mold with a little bit of pace. Scored a good goal against us too at there place.

19 years old, view to sign, wouldn't surprise me if it's same as how much there buying keogh for

Would be a welcomed signing, wouldn't read too much into his goalscoring record as most of his apps have probably been made off the bench.

At least we have cover for Keogh, so 1 in 1 out is not bad if he is Striker.

I'd take him. Can offer something different to what we already have. Him plus another striker, someone who has scored in this league like Beavon, and Jennings and we will have something close to a decent squad.

Does the telegraph this morning imply this is a loan deal or a loan with a view to a permanent deal??

Callum Ball

born: 08/10/92 (age 19)

Height: 6' 1"

Scored 21 goals for U18's in 2010/2011 season + 10 goals for reserves
Scored 3 goals in 11 games for Derby last season

Considered "powerful/pacey"

Looks good to me.

So he's in the shop window with us where he will either be shite and we're stuck with him or have had less benefit from the Keogh deal or he'll be a star and Derby will up the ante, have him back or sell him to the highest bidder in January. I know I'm turning more pessimistic by the day among all many peoples newfound optimism on here but I just don't trust these clowns and never will.

Hey guys, derby fan here, if its true about ball coming to you on loan, don't worry about his scoring record, he has been coming off the bench for most of the games, i can say i can't see Derby wanting to sell him, as he is one for the future, so cannot see you getting him
permanent,

anyway with a bit of luck you will be back with us next season, unless we go up :D never going to happen.

Bit misleading Johnnie 3 in 11 starts in the league - he also started 2 fa cup games and 12 sub appearances in the league.

Sounds like a promising lad, hopefully there is something in place for us to sign him if he turns out any good!
