But it's not one or two games if you are successful. It's only one or two games a season for us because we've either been crap, or have buggered it up.

Us winning, at the top, bigger crowds for more games.

We go to the Championship and start competing for the top 6 there we will get several big attendances.

Had we gone up this season for instance, you would have big crowds for Wolves, Birmingham, Villa and Newcastle for starters and then very decent crowds for Leeds, Derby and Forest.

We need to switch off from the losing mentality we HAVE had and think about the success we COULD have and the difference that would make.

We have been crap and not successful. Being successful will make one hell of a difference.

I find it hard to believe that things like this and the deal with the CT to suppress stories comes out and nobody bats an eyelid. Fans of other clubs would be up in arms.

The council will only negotiate if there is no professional football there. Make you proud?

25k isn't for the premiership that where we should be aiming.
25k wouldn't be big enough for us for the last 10 games in the championship if we were in the top 2

Of course unless anyone thinks the Ricoh is being knocked down we could always play a game there should we get a big cup time and there be the demand.

I see. So Swansea lack ambition? They have lacked ambition for several years have they?

It was in place at the Butts for when they took on the lease .. even Cov Utd are aware.
Use restrictions http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-united-fc-talks-over-10579791
Any move by Coventry United to play at the stadium would need to be signed off by Coventry City Council as the owners of the venue’s freehold.
The whole site is currently held by Coventry Rugby Properties LLP on a long lease from the council. It has a user clause restricting the site to use as a rugby club and pitch, sports hall and other leisure uses.
Coventry Rugby Ltd has a long under lease - direct from the main lease - to restrict the pitch and current stand for rugby football club and clubhouse use only. This lease can only be passed on to another rugby union club.

I was proud of them for taking the hard decision and standing up to SISU would have been easier to roll over. You can keep asking me I can keep saying yes if you like?
I might copy the above paragraph so I can paste it to you every time you ask me.
Still want your fellow fan to be priced out of watching their team live, as long as you can still go?

Because more people get to go, it will be more than 10K in total because it won't the same extra 10K going everytime we sell out. That's more than 10k people who make a connection with the club, spend money on pies, maybe buy merchandise. That could be 10k plus people that the club could lose forever because they don't have the capacity of accommodate them in their business model.

I suppose they could always go and support a London Rugby Club across town instead. That's bound to cheer you up.

Do people think SISU will drop legal action in order to sit down with CCC to talk about the freehold?

I can well imagine SISU getting them to agree to no further legal action and then nothing coming of it!

This forum, led by it's chief moderator is dominated by arse licking SISU apologists, FFS they are having you over and throwing up a smokescreen as usual you daft twats ! The club ratchets down in stature and attendance expectation all the time and you continue to make excuses for the main protagonists who have overseen our demise. It's fucking pathetic, next the same morons will be saying, yeah well 7000 in some temporary stands will be fine for the time being { In the meantime the court bullshit continues } and it's all the council's fault { and the court cases continue }. We will be struggling to survive in League 2 and still some will be slavering at the mouth to defend the utter scum that came to Cov looking for Gold and didn't find it through bullying and 'battering no-one in court !!

But the whole point of my listing these is because they are nearly all expanding

I would say it is irrelevant going back 25 years because clubs then had smaller capacities than they do now in many cases.

My whole argument is that surely we want to be looking for a stadium to cater for us for the next 50 years plus.

We have had very little success at all these past 25 years. We have success, attendances will increase.

We need to look for a new home and one tied in with Cov sounds brilliant in theory, but we need to look past just the now and we need foundations for many, many years to come.

In theory I love the Butts concept.

People talk about crowd numbers and capacity. They talk about community assets. Grendel about supressed ticket prices! Lots of hypocritical comments.

The aim should be maximum amount of fans at the cheapest possible prices.

How does this potentially work? Each club keeps relevant matchday incomes and everything else is 50/50?

That's not what is being referred to. It has been proposed to change the lease but an email leaked from CCC states:

It is suggested that we look to add a new clause 12 to the Licence which make a variation or agreement/acknowledgement between the parties that the reference within clause 13.1 of the lease to “any other leisure and sporting activities and uses” shall specifically exclude professional association football or training associated therewith.

That only tells you about the people who will wait, not the people who won't. The people who won't go and spend their money elsewhere maybe never to return. It's OK selling cars making hay when the sun shines you're talking about a once a year, two year maybe three year cycle. Football is in the entertainment business and if you have an inability to service your potential customer base on a weekly/fortnightly basis you risk losing them forever.

Like I said, they could always go and watch a London Rugby club across town instead. The fact that you can't see it gives our competition the edge to outmuscle us is flabbergasting. Especially as you're the one constantly moaning that they're trying to steal our customer base. It seems you're happy to help them in that cause. 15k means we can't compete with our biggest competition in the immediate vicinity.

Cautiously optimistic that this happens, cautious because its SISU and their track record on new stadiums. Waiting for WASPS to fail could take years and IMO won't happen as CCC cut them a great deal. Being their tenant is clearly not a long term option. Could we not buy 50% of ACL from WASPS ? wouldn't that be cheaper ? as we won't own 100% of the Butts ?

Once WASPS change the seating to yellow and black at the Ricoh it will be very difficult to go there.

Like the idea of the location and parking will be no more of an issue than Highfield Road.

15,000 is too small though especially as you have to give 10% to the away fans and if it is Fleetwood at home the 13,500 home end could be sold out but with only 100 away fans. In the PL in our last 3 seasons including the relegation our crowds were averaging about 21,000

Had a bit of a play around in photoshop putting some other stadiums into the space available. If the small park could be purchased and a few design tricks you could get a 30K plus stadium in.

Don't think that's on the cards at all but if things start to move forward on this it might be worth looking into.

If it had the potential to expand to 30,000 that would be totally perfect!

Do think there may well be massive opposition from local residents though and also traffic problems trying to get anywhere close on match days (or indeed past the place)
