Agree. I love the Ricoh so much more than I ever did HR.

HR was a below average stadium.

It's all deflection by Sisu and the usual skittles are yet again lining up and enthusiastically slobbering waiting for Sisu to throw them a ball.

Currently the plans to 25k would hold good in the Championship. If we made it back the top flight that's where the issue will come?

What then? Do we then build another stadium or are Sisu hoping Wasps will be bankrupt by then and go and buy the Ricoh.

What plans for 25K ??

My initial thoughts on this, is to get more leverage when negotiating with Wasps.

If true, I think it could work, but only if the capacity is around 25,000.

What are the rugby club doing announcing it though? What would be in it for them?

The worst thing about HR was atmosphere from the West End, fans making loads of noise but it just didn't get projected....a crying shame because our fans are great (glory hunters and all) you really see it on the road.

My first thoughts is that this may be the next court case seed being planted. The location is so impractical for thousands of rowdy football fans that CCC is compelled to stop it. SISU knows this and when they do they sue again.

Yep. Went in the West End and the Kop and the sound just didn't reverberate around the stadium well at all.

There were also restricted views in the West Stand and M&B Stand too.

I have suggested a reason for this; appeasing their own fans over recent decisions and showing ambition or nothing more than possibilities

I don't know?

I just think if CCFC/SISU have 2 options (Ricoh or BPA), that puts them in a stronger position with Wasps for negotiation, rather than just begging Wasps for a better deal. Wouldn't you agree?

Bournemouth have had massive success on 11K. So what if we start at 15K. In the last decade how many times have we needed the full capacity of the Ricoh? We have to start somewhere. I think a smaller capacity will drive the demand for tickets if we do well and that can only be a good thing. It might be an issue in a decade or three, but it's not an issue now, I don't think.

Bournemouth aren't being run cost neutral. They have a wealthy backer willing to put his hand in his pocket. Bournemouth's success hasn't been built on ticket revenue and 365day a year revenue.

Italia SBK and Senior Thick aren't too chuffed to be fair. Tony says he's unsure that moving into a stadium owned by a rugby club may be right for "his" team, OSB has concerns on parking (rather odd given there is nowhere to park at the Ricoh) and dongle is avoiding all questions on the councils apparent attempt to strangle at birth this concept.

Everyone else seems on board.

The reason I'm unsure Dumbo head is the same reason you should be unsure. We don't have a plan, building or financial to make an informed decision from. What is there to be sure about exactly?

emphasis was on wages. directors were pumping in loans to pay the wage bill in the 1st promotion season.

The Butts has so many possibilities for the rugby club, into the Championship even the Premiership (dare we dream?). Not so sure for the football club unless we plan on hanging around League 1. I still think the Ricoh is the way ahead. The atmosphere was so much better this season with some simple organisation.

With a successful team we could fill that baby even in the Championship (maybe not every week) certainly more than Wasps.

Before I get anywhere near to excited about this I want to see some actual plans and figures. I also hope if the plans are good someone gets the council in a headlock to force it through. I want a Craven Street run before the game and no more mincing about in Foleshill.

Have I got this right, we're going from renting a big ground from a big rugby club to renting a small ground from a small rugby club ?

I think its already been pointed out that if CCC refuse it the next step is to appeal to the secretary of state. If true and they start legal preceding's of the back of CCC refusing the only possible outcome would be go and appeal to the secretary of state. Be a pointless exercise in that case.

No so different from JR1 I guess

Would people agree it would have to be expandable to 25,000 to be anything like a goer?

15,000 in the Championship would leave us one of the poorer boys in terms of comparable success for revenue.

25,000 would be fine for the Championship, but wouldn't be good enough for us to make any real indentation in the Premier I wouldn't have thought.

CRC have said in so many words that 25,000 is too big for them, so CCFC would have to make a very long term commitment.

Where would we like to see the club in 10-15 years? Challenging perhaps for a Europa League place like Southampton?

I just wish the Butts had more scope for expansion. Doesn't have to be immediate, but for the future and seasons to come should this club of ours enjoys period of success.

Coventry had disappointing season (promotion aim and ended up mid table having finished 3rd year before) and brought in a New director of rugby in true SISU style with a lack of sensitivity. Rowland Winter seems on the button and answered questions without being asked them last night. As he says the club is punching well below it's weight. I just feel the club had to justify their decisions a sell a future plan. Coventry built a good squad over the last few years and although it fell a party there was about four players expected to be retained by the fans who weren't; like a 23/24 year old who played almost every game won the fans and players player of the year....many thought he was Cov through and through and there to build upon?

You often go on and chastise SISU for a failure to look to the future, and to sort out a new stadium, or stay at the Ricoh, and now it appears that they are looking at the possibility of a new home. It may not come off, but people have moaned on for some developments on this front and one comes up, and it is slated most often by those that have criticised the club for doing nothing.

I cant help feel that your view of this situation is not a little blinkered by your business interests.
