Bayliss runs with the ball but tries a shot that goes over instead of passing.

We get so deep every time we are under pressure, we can never clear our lines because of it. You're always going to get periods of pressure but we seem to extend the ones against us.

@steve82 how can you compare Shipley and bayliss? Seriously at one Tom looks like he can make a difference in games

JCH wins it well and controls it out of the air but again not much support. Ends up laying to brown who gets fouled.

Doyle doesnt beat the first man that puts us under shit loads of pressure. Ends up with bayliss hammering a pass back to Burge but luckily he controls it and clears.

Booking for Quinn, missed what he did to Doyle but tried to take Bayliss out late as well.

Without close runners it will always end up going backwards. As others have said today (and previously) we play too deep whennunder pressure and don’t give ourselves realistic chance to clear lines

Think we’re still waiting for Pompey to release him.

Half time, apart from a couple of good runs from Thomas we havent done much else. Burge has kept us in it!

Easy answer that you cannot, different players entirely.

What you can compare is the levels of grief both players get. One is hammered and is playing poorly, the other tho is liked and has been playing poorly too bet gets under the radar due to his liked status.

Decent game for a 0-0. You can see why Burton were in the championship last year, very well drilled. First goal wins I think

I think we both had spells. Burge has made a couple of great saves but so has their keeper. They definitely finished the half stronger though. Still think they look vulnerable to pace when they’re on top.

Decent first half. Definitely the better side. Would get JCH off ASAP. He slows it down every time he gets the ball and invariably gives it away. When he does something good it always looks like it was an accident.

Bayliss looking back to his best so far. Thomas threatening first 20 mins but gone quiet since then.

So then, Burge has a better first touch than JCH by the look of it

We need to get the first goal. They have looked dangerous at times though mostly our own mistakes have given them their chances. We have not crated enough and need to step it up a bit now.
Bayliss has been excellent as has Thomas who did fade after 30 minutes. Doyle on a yellow is troublesome. Hiwula needs to get in the game more and we need to find the runs of Chaplin much quicker. This is winnable so long as we do not allow them to get a head of steam up from the restart. Just wish at times JCH would stretch a leg out to intercept now and again as he just seems to watch the ball pass him by.

Hiwula has been our worse player. Not sure what's happened to him.

Brown looks shakey again.

No one up front is really offering anything.

He's not really been in the game, if he gets the ball he looks tidy but it's just getting him on the ball in the first place.

Our chances have mainly been from players making runs themselves and shooting, when we try to pass it forward and get at them like that we end up giving it away.

I'd say Chaplin and Grimmer have been worse, Chaplin has been anonymous. It's as if he wants to be the target man holding up the ball and laying it off and not the player making runs on the last man.

Win,lose or draw, I'm glad we've at least turned up. Burton are a decent team, and anything we get today will be a bonus. Let's hope the forwards can find the net in the second half.

Personally, I don't care who finds the net as long as it's their net
