Marosi for me also. It’s difficult though because I don’t remember Marosi having to make anywhere near as many saves as Burge. I think because of our style of play we seem to face less shots (haven’t checked stats and could be wrong) but regardless I feel so much more assured with MM in nets.

Silly question.

The better question is when are Slovakia going to call up Marosi to their national team.

We shouldn't want him called up either, we don't have enough internationals to get games called off, so would have to go into a game without him, whilst he would only get to sit on the bench

Marosi has been a superb signing,
Burge was always a good shot stopper but poor in the 6 yard area and it was obvious our defenders had little confidence in him and his ball distribution kicking or throwing useless, Marosi’s ball play from the back throwing or passing is superb, we use him like an outfield player. Makes good saves too when called upon, superb one yesterday at a vital time.

Next week Pete goes back in time to give a centre forward choice:

Dublin or Lee Mills
Still people holding a grudge against a club legend who kept us punching above our weight for years....so when Pete asks the question it will attract Lee Mills votes

In fairness to Burge. He was a good shot stopper. Pretty good one on one and he had pretty decent reactions for quick saves. Unfortunately though, it takes much more than that to be a keeper and he had absolutely no other attributes to go along with it.
He never talked to the players around him. He was scared of opposition players. He couldn't catch. He couldn't kick. He couldn't throw. He couldn't command his area. He should play futsal, where he would only really be needed to make quick reaction saves. Hed be much more suited to it!

He wasn't, off the top of my head I can remember goals going in last season against Luton and Pompey that he should have kept out. The shot stopping thing was a myth. He had the odd good game, luckily played well at Wembley twice.
