Coronavirus: Germany's Bundesliga to resume on 16 May

Should we put it to a vote on who can be 'Temporary City', look into who we have the most similarities with etc then watch their games and have a match thread?

RB Leipzig can do one...

Dynamo Dresden themselves are in relegation scrap at the bottom end of 2nd division, yet pull in over 25000 at home, and their away support makes anything in England look small-time. I'm sure they've taken 15000 away a number of times in past few seasons.

Down that way, Energie Cottbus are in 3rd or 4th division.... Think Cottbus is twinned with Nuneaton or Bedworth.

Went to that stadium in 95... Think its changed a little now, I'm sure there was only a roof over one side when I went...

I know Leicester City have a little bit of a twinning/partnership with a German 2nd division side. Think it's Bochum....

There's no doubt 83000 every week, and that huge terrace behind the goal are fantastic. But I think there's better fan groups in Gernamy.... Eintracht Frankfurt for one. Union Berlin are fantastic for a small club. Dynamo Dresden in the European elite for fans despite their poor team.

I would say we are most like FC Kaiserslautern without the success - they won the 2.Bundesliga and Bundesliga back to back in 98 but now find themselves in the 3.Bundesliga playing in a ground less than half full and just narrowly above relegation. They expanded their stadium which they rented from the local council so it could host some 2006 WC games but got relegated and the rent was unpayable at a lower level

I like what St Pauli stand for, plus they have a brown home kit so kind of CCFC connected. They play in Bundesliga 2 though, so not sure if they are also restarting.

Had a bit of a soft spot for 1860 Munich, since they are the Sky Blues, but I think they play in the third division now

Hadn't thought about that but WWE have done it for years to make sure they get the crowd reactions they want so no reason it can't be done. Better than just hearing the players shouting at each other.

This was exactly one of the scenarios I hypothesised about affecting games going forward and why were people being so keen to get next season started when the chances of it being disrupted were even greater than this one.

I guess we should support Dresden or Kiel (otherwise what is the point of twin cities?).

Just seen a new released BBC report of virus acceleration again in Germany.

just saying.

Chaos might well be the Mail overstating things, shocking I know, as it only impacts two matches and it seems the whole squad being quarantined is down to the state of Saxony going against the Governments agreed protocol.
