Wrights numbers speak for themselves, the goals will come. In another world he could have had 4 or 5 in the last couple of games.

Admittedly Milan didn’t have his best game today , but we are a better team when he plays , we have lost 3 games this season all when Milan hasn’t played , would love for him to sign a new contract

Milan played at Ipswich but didn't play at Preston

Can’t believe Rudoni is getting 6’s and 7’s. Fans definitely have their favourites If Eccles puts in that performance then he’s getting 3’s. I like Rudoni btw but just pointing out the lack of separation between feeling and rating for some posters. He had a stinker.

Rushworth is going to the top. He’s just such a calm guy and once again it’s his handling that is as impressive as the saves.

Wright looked a threat, a couple of those turns were really tidy and had the pace to get away for the shots. Not many strikers in this division are able to get those chances he made today. Should have squared a tap in for Rudoni mind, second half.

Torp’s looking more and more aggressive which is great to see. He would sometimes be a bit passive out of possession when he first arrived but he’s definitely getting used to the physical side of English football. Work rate was superb today.

It's a funny one as I'd say if Eccles or Allen don't shit their pants they get a 7 from most fans

Favourites indeed

One pass second half to wright was exceptional

That was class - there was another one out to EMC in the second half, which totally cut them in two, we played about 6 one-time passes in succession. By far the best passage of build up play.

Yeah, I actually think he’s been playing the best he’s played for a while in the last couple of games, just not quite happening for him in front of goal. That turn yesterday was a thing of beauty.

Can’t believe some continue to question Wright. Just look at his numbers. He’s quality.

Anyone else today feel like we didn't win? Perhaps its just me but I didn't get the buzz from yesterday, and it feels like we are struggling just a bit. We got a late scarppy goal, didn't look too good for large parts of the game and Bristol should have scored at least on 3 occasions. Plenty of players were not on it after the first 20 minutes or so. Yes Bristol played good tactics and I expect many more teams will find a way to frustrate us. But that does not excuse our overall game.
Perhaps Rudoni is trying to play his way into the team again, Torp looked like he still has not fully recovered from injury. Grimes looking a bit jaded. Milan the same. Kitch too often losing his man and Thomas covering.
I just felt we got out of jail yesterday and will need to find ourselves quickly to ensure we keep up the pace.

That's what champions do, they find ways to win when things don't seem to be going their way.
We'll need to find more of those types of victories before the seasons out.

Oh I agree that's not denialble. But my point was what was the 'feeling' after that game? Was I the only one who felt a little undewhelmed?

I thought it was a great win. We had to dig in deep at the end and got through it

I think with it being such a busy period, squad not the biggest and a bug doing the rounds a drop in quality is to be expected. All things that will affect many other teams in the league.

Personally don't feel underwhelmed but maybe after some of the swashbuckling football we saw earlier in the season that's how it's affecting some people.

We were brilliant in the opening 20-25 minutes, ought to have scored in that period. If we had done, could well have been a big win.

As soon as wright scores he’ll go on a run of getting 5/6 goals in a couple of games . I thought looked quality yesterday

Rushworth - 9
MvE - 7
Thomas - 8
Kitching - 7
JDS - 8
Grimes - 7
Torp - 8
Rudi - 5
Sakamoto - 5
Wright - 7
EMC - 8

Rudi still looks rusty and (despite what he says) dealing with his shoulder. Saka was quiet.

The match thread itself was entertaining. Lots of highs and lows. Then the goal boasted spirits once more.

I'dda rated it a 7 earlier today.

Currently it rates a 1 as it's moved on from match and football related manners, and devolved entirely

100% true. Wright is 100% the best striker we got and possibly the best in the divission when hes ON IT... Last 2 games hes looked on it as opposed his previous stint between the international breaks.

Hes gonna get a hatfull very soon if he carries on like this.

His big drop offs could be something to do with carrying/ managing injuries.

When he comes back from injuries hes always looked great. Sunderland at home..Preston away. Start of this season.

But when hes carrying injuries...sunderland play off final....etc etc.

Belated comments.

Rushworth obviously MOTM. Without him we would be scrabbling around with the pack rather than 5 points clear. He's going to be expensive but going into the Prem with him, plus a fit again Dovin, gives us a much better chance of survival. Get your cheque book out Dougie.

Honourable mentions for:
EMC - worried them sick. He has a knack for getting close quarters goals (Millwall last year, Stoke)
Torp: Worked his socks off. Best of the midfield three. Bar Rushworth probably the MOTM. Lots of nice passes.
Rudoni: Unlike most I think we saw Rudoni almost back to his best. His close control is out of this world, and his ability to pop up as the extra man on either flank really disrupts oppositions.
Thomas: Best of the defenders. The trouble is all on our left with the Kitching Da Silva combo.

A bit meh
Grimes: Worst game for ages. Lacked precision with his crosses into the box
Wright: He's got to hit the target. Tends to drag it wide.Yes I know he helped with the goal. I prefer Ellis Simms. .
Tats & MVE combo - barely did anything
Eccles - that shot over the bar - should have buried it.
