JDS was excellent. Always probing barely put a foot wrong. 6? worth way more than that.
Haji hit the post and made the goal. 4 is ridiculous. Several shots where he nearly scored. Our best forward after EMC who finally got support from the ref.
Saka very quiet until near the end.
MVE a bit off it and nearly gave a goal away.
Our midfield was great passing in front of their defence and nowhere near penetrative enough.

Interesting read and some wide range of views. My thoughts on a tough, hard fought, but ultimately deserved win:

Rushworth 8, outstanding and MoM performance

MvE 5 looked well off it and defensively caught out of position consistently 2nd half

Thomas and Kitching, both 6. Thought their 30 was a handful for both of them all afternoon.

JDS 7, played well in my opinion

Torp 5, one or two good bits the game seemed to largely pass him by

Grimes 7, good standard level 'Grimes' performance

Rudoni 6, tried but still some a little off his pre injury levels

Wright 7, best game for some time, particularly 1st half

Saka 6, tenacious and battled away but very little end product today

EMC 8, excellent and close to MoM. Thought he was a threat all game.

Subs little time to impact but thought Simms showed real effort and desire

Wright made a lot of space for himself but wasn't picked out
Rushworth motm, Thomas and EMC decent. Dasilva was good. Rest average.

Really wanted a goal for Haji, could do with some slightly better choices at times but worked hard. Rudi doesnt look right yet, Grimes attempts at putting balls in the worst since hes been here.

3 Points hanging on and not conceding after Tuesday will do them good.

Win, clean sheet PUS

Mason Clark was absolutely relentless on the wing. Are there still people that think he’s not good enough? One of the craziest things I’ve seen on here this season.

If we could get some competition for him it could push him on even further.
Today was one of his better games tbf.
But he is often very frustrating, we need more performances like today from him.
Some competition would give us another option, but we could always use Wright on the left and play Simms upfront, at least until the transfer window opens.

Think these are spot on.

Would maybe give Bobby 7.5 for his covering tackles; bailed us out a few times when they threatened to break, and it was his header that led to the goal.

MVE must still be recovering from his illness.

A week of rest will do them all good.

Not just you squire-I was thinking the same.
It's strange. It's not like super low scores but always enough to make out he wasn't as good as his partner or the rest of the back line

I think he's been phenomenal this season along with Thomas. We have the best CB duo in the division.

Rushworth 8.5 (brilliant save but then thew the ball to them almost giving them a goal scoring chance!). As Roy Keane would say "it's his job too.

MVE 6. Not put in a strong performance for some time

Thomas 8.5. Though he was great today. Defending really well under pressure and great header to hit the post before the goal

Kitching 7

Dasilva 7

Grimes 6 - gave the ball away a fair bit today

Torp 5.5 - didnt get involved much today

Rudoni 5 - tries to be too clever, not linking up with teammates well. Eccles starts over hom for me the next game

EMC 8 - a threat, constantly draws 2 or 3 players to him

Wright 6 - good until it comes down to being in front of goal

Sakamoto 6.5

One thing I noticed today is that EMC looks like he’s dropped some weight, and his fitness levels are therefore better too.

When he first came, he looked heavy legged - he had great upper body strength, but struggled to beat his man for pace - the coaching team have clearly got him to a much better level of fitness in the last few months.

Rushworth, Thomas, DaSilva & EMC had great to good games.

Haji's movement was good and he had a few chances but can't quite find that goal, though he did get the assist.

Our midfield was a tiny bit below par compared to their norm.

Bristol played pretty well and looked awfully dangerous but they also left us a lot of space, though Armstrong was good for them.

He’s not the only one. Shocked by some of torps scores as I thought he was good today. Did a load of dirty work which seems to have gone unnoticed (and head and shoulders above Rudi today)
Rudoni just not back up to full speed unfortunately.

yeah, not knocking him, he’s one of my favourite players, just nowhere near back to his best yet which is understandable. I’d have personally taken him off earlier

I also think having both him and Mason Clark playing together can sometimes slow our more direct play which against certain teams who sit deeper, doesn’t help us break them down

Only way he will is by playing though. Were some guys behind me just saying haul him off after 20 mins

He was nowhere near that bad. He did ok but will improve and get back to his levels for sure.

As for jds he is vital in the goal we scored. Seems to be overlooked.

I’d have put Eccles on for him a bit earlier but appreciate he needs the game time to get the sharpness back.

Rudoni gets a 6 and Sakamoto only a 4? How?!??! Rudoni gave the ball away so many times, offered little. Brilliant run by Sakamoto late in the game?

I thought Thomas was outstanding today.
Thought Saka lacked his usual energy and was anonymous most of the game (led to us attacking down the left almost exclusively second half), got caught out quite a few times pressing at the wrong time and got bypassed leaving MVE under pressure. Was a good run at the end - maybe should have nudged him to a 5. Thomas was ok, but his (& Kitching’s) marking was poor. Watch when the striker got the ball on his chest in the area and shot, he was Thomas’s man, and then he stepped away from him and left him unmarked. Rudoni - well off his best, but still linked play well, meant we kept possession, just not creative like he can be
