Shit news? It looks as though ACL have offered a very good deal, hopefully too good to turn down to get ccfc at the Ricoh. To me this sounds promising not shit news.

Who has the ultimate decision on whether to accept ACL's offer?

a) The administrator
b) Joy Seppala
c) Tim Fisher
d) The administrator but as advised by Joy Seppala
e) Tim Fisher but as advised by Joy Seppala
f) None of the above

Surely it's the administrator because he's ultimately in control of CCFC Ltd in administration.

But he isn't for them once they're out of administration though.

Wouldn't have thought that an adminsitrator would be able to tie a company in to a 10 year deal himself that will be continuing long after he's gone?

Don't know what the scope of powers for an administrator are to set future policy myself.

If sisu turn this down then at least we know they really DO want the Ricoh for FA

I know you are treated like some sort of last word on everything on here (and seem to get no challenge) but I think we all understand the sums. OF COURSE its a better deal than Northampton - but its still not a sustainable one without F&B etc or the possibility even of negotiating an agreement over it. Quite why ACL would think this would be acceptable to SISU or indeed all but the most rabid of anti SISU types is baffling.
Trying to justify it as a good deal does your credibility no favours.

Got a feeling you already know that no matter what the rent deal is on offer Seppala has other things in mind. Why take all this trouble, spend all this money and get diverted at the last moment. Never has been about the rent or F&B's . Purely about ownership, and ownership at a knock down price.

Unfortunately this is good news for Coventry City back at the Ricoh but for me I support the NOPM campaign full stop thus it looks like it will be a long time before I'm watching CCFC again. My personal choice but I cannot hand over any more of my hard earned money to SISU.

Just wondering if we have some of the most dedicated, hard-working employees in the country.

Everybody seems to hand over their "hard-earned" money, nobody ever hands over their "just sat on my arse all day, fucked about on the internet for a bit, answered a few phone calls, and then pretended to do a spreadsheet til finishing time-earned" money.

I think you need to establish your credibility/credentials (newby with a pro-SISU stance, I note - all welcome, but I'm slightly suspicious). If it's a better deal than any previously offered and Tim wants to 'think about it' - how come you know it can't possibly be acceptable. I want our football club to get all that they can re: income- but SISU haven't yet convinced me that if they get their hands on ££££, that it will end up with my football club:thinking about:

I think you will find those who do work hard are those that refuse to give SISU anymore. Take that as you will.

Then the FA/FL need to step in and tell them that with this offer ground sharing is not an option. I'm sure there is a rule.

Please, please just get it done

I'd be happy to accept the deal on the table with an agreement to planned discussions on the ownership of the Ricoh in the future and building bridges and building up a relationship before any discussions take place.

Not really, simple really, if you don't work hard for your money why worry where it's spent, those that do work hard tend to look at how it's spent and to whom. The point is whether people like it or not, I support the total NOPM campaign as my season ticket money can be better spent else where.

You would think so Horse. I do firmly believe the FL don't want to rock any boats though, they've screwed up somewhere down the line and are hoping it can be sorted without their blunders becoming public. Having to flex their muscles against SISU will surely open the doors for a legal challenge they don't want.

How hard is hard work?

Would you say you're hard most of the time during office hours?

How does wanting the football club to have the revenues it generates make you pro sisu?

maybe not, but the majority just want to see our team play in Coventry, sisu out can wait, surely. Marching to keep the team at the Ricoh and then boycotting still is a little dumb don't you think?

I wonder if the football league are in the background in this dispute . Surely to condone the move to Northampton sisu have had to make a case that the positions between ACL and sisu were irreconcilable . Now with Fisher telling sky sports that sisu would look at the deal , that must put sixfields very much an outside bet .

Even if we return to the Ricoh, it won't satisfy the "SISU Out" brigade and I repeat as an ordinary supporter of almost 60 years I've never had the privilege of choosing our owners!
Right now we should be getting behind the Manager, Players & Staff as the new season approaches. PUSB & GOOD LUCK at Crawley and wherever we end up playing our home games!

Why does it matter if its sustainable? Correct me if I'm wrong but nothing in this deal precludes Sisu building their own stadium. It simply offers better terms in the interim.

As I see it, the ONLY reason to reject this deal is if you were moving out of the Ricoh for some reason other than building a new ground.

Well ACL have undercut Sixfields and very likely any other stadium in the Midlands.

If it is only about getting the Ricoh cheap rather than a deal SISU can run the club with then the offer will be rejected.

And the telegraph article does mention f&b
http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/ricoh-arena-offers-massively-reduce-5385570
The ACL offer revealed today includes discussions about Coventry City obtaining more matchday revenue, including food and drink sales, which are tied up in a contract with private company Compass.

Agreed, regardless of whoever owns our club, I don't think anyone here would not want CCFC to be able to get the most revenue it can towards the bills and fair play rules.

But IF contracts are in place with compass, ACL etc, then SISU have to accept that or pay the going rate to buy those contracts. They can't just be given away - that really would be a kick in the teeth for the ratepayers (most of which probably don't even like football).

It depends, I was on the March but very vocal on "We want SISU out" thus I was there for 2 reasons. I'm definitely not going to bemoan anybody watching at the Ricoh but for me it's more than that. I said on another post, if you look at the team when SISU took over and spent just a little to improve it I believe we would have been challenging for promotion to the premier League yet we are league 1 club with little or no assets, that is what SISU have done.

It's 10 years though.

OK, we had the joys of Arena 2000 going on and on and on, but even from a standing start you'd hope your build time would be Rotherham speed rather than Wembley or Arena 2000.

I see where you're coming from, I just couldn't really give a fuck about the compass catering, ACL and it's income streams or sisu for that matter. Don't think ratepayers should benefit from the club. The stadium was built for ccfc to play in. Maybe I'm wrong and just being selfish. I'm not arsed, I just want my great club back with every opportunity to prosper.
