Joking aside, £2-3m for a sub striker who’s 25 with a good record at Championship level is a bargain. You’d easily spend that on a top end L1 player. We’ve also weakened WBA in the process. Simms nor Wright will have breathing space if they struggle for form whereas last season, their competition was Godden - who scored 1 league goal after September.

I have no idea why you are using goals to compare a striker and midfielder…People were wetting their pants with excitement over us paying 5m for Stamenic who has never played in this country, who has played about 90 games in total and scored 4 goals. OK he is only 22 but even so. BTA still looks good business cheaper and less of a gamble.
