Why did we give him a new 3 year deal? He made 6 league appearances since signing that.

It needed to happen to be fair.

Wasn't it that Watford cup game when it all seemed to go downhill for him? Then his injuries.
I believe it was the game against Rotherham Jobello got injured and we changed system to suit as we didnt have many fit wingers to the box and Mason isnt the greatest WB and that allowed McCallum to stroll into the line up

Best thing all round. Bit of a weird one. Had a good season, new contract and then pretty much never played again!

Not quite... McCallum went into LB post Rotherham, and we did not change to 3 at the back until the 2nd half against Fleetwood and kept it... Rotherham, Tranmere, MK & 1st half against Fleetwood was our worst period. Even though we battered Tranmere & lost!

Tranmere was similar to Barnsley in a way where we didnt take our chances

Because he suited the team and formation when he signed the deal.

Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for the rest of us, we changed to a formation which didn't suit him and we won the league playing that way.

In a league where every bit of money counts we can’t be sentimental, wouldn’t be surprised if Wes and a few others leave before techie end of the day

Thinking about it it’s probably a great thing to do for him and us. Without leaving he can’t sign for a new club until January

Exactly this, had a move scuppered by injury but by leaving and becoming a free agent he is not restricted by deadline day.

He obviously wants regular football, good luck to him.

That's a very curt statement, where has he gone? Mutual concent? Did we pay up his contract? Was he abducted by aliens?

Not really it is pretty standard. As for all the other questions around contract neither party would want that in the public domain. In fact there would would be a confidentiality agreement as part of the settlement agreement.

Mason hasn’t played for the first team for nearly two years now, I wish him well but it’s the correct decision letting him go

Feel for him. He was stuck behind McCallum and never got a chance. Always thought he was a decent left back.
