Simon Moore, in that second season up, is by far the best keeper we've had since promotion.
First half or two thirds, he was ropey at the end and as bad as Collins has been this season.

Colins has also regressed, maybe it's coaching?

I've never been a fan of Collins.
But he's nowhere near the level now that he was when he replaced Wilson.

Im genuinely bemused by people defending him
He's costing us goals on analyst weekly basis.

If Wilson died in his sleep, I'd still put his lifeless body on the goal line and back it to be more effective than Collins!
He’s letting in shots that an amateur would be disappointed with , we are not being harsh, most of them were run of the mill saves and I can’t see him recovering from this he’s finished at cov .

It’s not coaching pal ask anyone whose ever played in goal at Sunday league level and they would expect to save most of them .

Interesting point that.

Oggy was goalkeeping coach forever and a day and (look, we all love him to bits) but I’m struggling to recall a keeper he progressed. Kirkland maybe? Westwood came in as a good keeper and left the same level.

Don’t know much about Aled Williams.

Maybe Frank will get Peter Cech to stop messing about on an ice rink.

Granted but none the less Colin's and Moore were/are shot to bits confidence wise.

Colins was nowhere as bad as this last season.

Moore was nowhere near as bad as Collins has been playing and is now a regular backup for a team sitting above us in the league. While there were supposedly personal issues at play, I still maintain we got rid of him too quickly.

I think the player himself needed to move on in Moore’s case.

That 'highlights' reel is astonishing.

I don't know how anyone (yes that includes you Frank!) can look at that and think it's worse persisting with Collins over Wilson.

he‘s made a couple of mistakes what keeper doesn’t, but everything that’s at him you’d expect him to save he saves, no brainer surely ?

Wilson is rapid getting down to make the save compared to Collins who dives after the ball is past him on occasions, it just looks comical.

If it was up to me, Wilson would never have played for the club again after Cardiff away last season.

It was beyond pathetic.

There’s a reason several managers have dropped him and he’s had one season of first team football in his whole career.
Neither of them are good enough. But the reality is, one of them’s shot to pieces and the other deals better with errors and pressure. That’s all it comes down to at this point.

Some of those are routine, but there's quite a few brilliant saves in there that Collins just isn't capable of.

So if you've got the choice of:

A - liable to chuck one in his own net and let's in every other shot he faces
B - liable to chuck one in his own net but capable of some good saves

Then it's a no brainer by default.

Players not getting better is one thing but we've had two keepers in quick succession who appear to have completely fallen apart.

One you could put down as just one of those things or something external but can't be often a club has had it happen to two keepers in a row. Both of whom were bought to be the first choice.

In the hall of unreliable goalkeeping fame, where does he sit? We've had some whoppers over the years. Burge, Debec, Dimi, the legend that is Eric McManus (one for the kidz), Nuzzo, Ireland. There's quite a competition for the title.
I've long held Nuzzo as my worst goalkeeper from memory. It was only one game though.

I am considering whether Collins is taking that top spot though.

I forgot about the personal issues tbf. He still stunk the place out though admittedly over a shorter time period. Hull Away sticks in my memory.

And yet has gone on to be a valuable asset to a playoff team. He would be starting for us on Saturday if he was still here.

Has anyone checked Collins’ betting activity?

Just a joke (I think)

On a serious note, once a keeper gets spooked, it can take a year or two to recover any kind of confidence. (E.g.Leighton, Karius) I hope he’s ok and can rebuild his career (as long as he’s not chucking matches) but he just shouldn’t be in goal for us.

wilson is very poor on 1 v 1 and that is the issue
when a player is through on goal, wilson stands to the side giving an easy tap in
I would even go with Bell at this point

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t seem to remember many of the goals against us this season being from 1 on 1s.

But Collins costs us consistently.
Not arguing about the defending yesterday, it was shocking.
But we're a Championship side, we will concede chances, it's a given, but with Collins in goal it leads to the opposition scoring far more frequently than it should.
It's not scapegoating, it's fact. We have a chance at making the play offs, he may well cost us our place.
He needs taking out of the firing line and have an arm around the shoulder.

No-one is talking about just dumping him and ignoring the bloke.

We can drop him and still care and look after him.
