Just keep what we’ve been doing at home, just wish sometimes we’d just take a point away, but don’t think we know how to play for a draw

Bit worried that the defence looks leaky and I'm not expecting any signings to be in defence, other than possibly a left back to push da Silva. Unless we can start being solid in defence again it's not going to matter who we sign

However hard it is we should try to enjoy being in the mix at the top of the league. We’re competing with/beating most teams, playing attacking football, scoring goals and have got a good group of players. Even in the best case scenario (promotion), next season might be a horror show

Feck I hope not but a good comparison of them last season when at one stage they were 12 points ahead of 2 ND place.

He didnt blind me. Just saying. I said then and still saying now, the summer transfer window was pooh! The ONLY player we signed thats had ANY impact this season was a GK on loan. And let's be honest, had Dovin been fit, we wouldn't of signed him.

Brau: Awful
KKH: Bit part/injured.
Woolf: Nowhere near the player we thought/hoped we'd signed.

Yet people still said it had been a great window and to stop bed wetting

A few of us called it. We were 2-3 short in the summer. Meaning now in Jan we're maybe 5-6 short. By having a shit summer, its had a knock-on effect to leave us an almost impossible task of 5-6 signings in January.

We'll be alright still I reckon*, Ipswich will overtake us but everyone else seems to have similar bouts of inconsistency as standard whereas we had such a ridiculous few months that it feels worse now than it probably is.

* I reserve the right to start shitting it if we drag our heels with incomings or fuck up the two quickfire home league games to come

How can people belittle the buying of the ground?
After everything we've been through to unite the club and the ground was massive for our future.

I agree we're short on numbers and hopefully that will be addressed, but as I said at the time, nuking the ground was more important than any player signings.

If we were going to have a dip now isn't the worst time if you want early pressure on Doug to bring some quality in.
I continue to be surprised that Lampard didn't have some budget guarantees before he took the job.

Another poor thread title…. This was always going to be tough, particularly with the thin nature of our squad and the heavy fixture list. Cut out the goalkeeping mistake (and it happens), and we get a decent point, perhaps two.

I'm a tad more optimistic to be honest.

I think it's the fact that we are still 8 points clear of 3rd and are now firmly into the transfer window and that we now don't have a league game for 2 weeks.

It's all aligned quite nicely, as long as we address the squad shortages.

Ipswich will probably win that game in hand. Much rests now on what we do transfer wise and it’s critical we get it right as we don’t currently have the depth to get this done.

Bringing Rudoni and Wright straight back in has cost us.

Simms gets player of the month, dropped for Wright. He's even scraped goals in the last couple of games where Wright has just been hiding again like he did in the playoffs.

KKH and Wolf have hardly played. Frank keeps picking his favourites, even when out of form.

the good points
a) we have a 6 point gap with 20 to play
b) We dont have to play ipswich again
c) Our next 3 closest rivals we have to play all at home, where we have only had 1 loss
d) we now have time for a reset
e) we now have time to strengthen

If you look at the threads exactly 12 months ago, they were all very negative, and this was about the time we turned it around

We are all feeling a bit shell shocked at the minute, but we are still there, and as others have said we need to be ready for the Leicester and Millwall games

6 points there and the bed wetting will stop - Any less than 4 and it will be a long way to the end of the season
