It’s too early to say we’ve bottled it, but the signs are there.

That ease and confidence has been replaced with mediocrity and underperforming.

If I’m this trajectory isn’t corrected, with signings and a collective ‘look lads, pressure is off’ regrouping, then yeah - we’re pretty much done.

This is why I didn’t listen to the hype, the media saturation about ‘Lampards flying sky blues’ or get too ahead of myself even when we were undefeated after 12-13 games.

Blind optimism is not going to fackin work if the wheels are coming off. Action must be taken, and Doug is going to have to let Lampard have some of the players he needs.

Its nothing to do with bottling it, they are fighting and are committed.

The problem is a thin squad and teams have worked us out.

Nearly every goal we conceed at the minute is because our fullbacks are so high up the pitch.

We need more protection for them, or to stop pushing them so high and play through the middle more.

We've taken 15 points from the last 10 games which roughly contains our patch of poor form.

These are all of the worst 10 match runs points wise for all of the teams promoted via autos in champ in last 10 years:

9 — Leeds United (2019/20)
9 — AFC Bournemouth (2021/22)
10 — Leicester City (2023/24)
11 — Burnley (2015/16)
11 — West Bromwich Albion (2019/20)
12 — Middlesbrough (2015/16)
12 — Cardiff City (2017/18)
12 — Sheffield United (2018/19)
12 — Sheffield United (2022/23)
12 — Ipswich Town (2023/24)
13 — Fulham (2021/22)
14 — Watford (2020/21)
15 — Newcastle United (2016/17)
15 — Wolverhampton Wanderers (2017/18)
15 — Burnley (2022/23)
16 — Norwich City (2018/19)
17 — Brighton & Hove Albion (2016/17)
17 — Burnley (2024/25)
18 — Norwich City (2020/21)
18 — Leeds United (2024/25)

They haven't bottled it. It's a tough patch, which all teams go through, especially when we are short on bodies and hit by sickness and a couple of injuries.

Rudi has been poor, but that's not unusual for a returning player.

Keep calm. Still top, with a good gap and 'boro not flying. Forget Ipswich, they will win it. Let them.

We just need a few top signings this month. If that doesn't happen, panic then!!!!

In reality we should try avoid waiting till the end of the month to sign. Ideally we get all our business done in the next 2 weeks.

Absolute dog shit today.

Both sets of fans terrible and the game was like a scrappy relegation battle.

I'm hoping in some way, it gives us a kick up the arse and we need a couple of signings.

Fuck Stoke off and get into the Sister Shaggers the week after.

That’s madness for a team clear at the top. No wonder some of the lads are starting to wilt, can’t play that style of football with little or no rest for too long. We’ve ran our ever present players in to the ground.

Can’t defend like that and expect to win but all this talk about bottling it when we all know we’ve been struggling with illness, injuries, suspensions, limited numbers etc in recent weeks is over the top. If anyone’s bottling it at the moment it’s the fans. Fair enough it’s hard to get behind the team when we’re giving away shit goals in the freezing cold but surely it’s now when they probably need us most ? This is the first wobble in a season none of us even dreamed of and a lot of the support has gone missing.

Let’s see how we do after a breather and hopefully a couple of additions before writing the season off. Hopefully the fans will be up for it v Leicester and try to lift the players

Think we all need to take a breath and settle down…myself included.

Today was always going to be a tough game even before Brum got beat 3-0 the other day. They were never going to roll over and we really needed to be back to our best which we weren’t.

We’ve got a bit of a break now, FA Cup we might as well write off, hopefully get a few through the door next week who we could potentially bed in against Stoke.

Leicester game is massive though, if we don’t turn up for that then I’ll start getting worried, that needs to set the tone of minimum required performance for the rest of the season. Hate to say it but it’s a must win.

Wishful thinking. Lots of teams don't move players on until they have replacements lined up. I'm sure the recruitment team are working hard!

Thing that worries me is if its not this season its literally never

Its taken us 25 years, a quarter of a century to get into this position, and the league this season is mental and you have to capitalise.

My concern being if we blow it this year, firstly we have another 'rebuild' to do and we all know that means starting slowly and playing catch up again. Teams such as Birmingham and Wrexham with their cash will be stronger than they are this year. There will be another 3 parachute teams in the mix to add to Ipswich, Southampton, Leicester, etc

We all came to terms with the play off final knowing we were nowhere near ready off the field or on it. This is THE golden opportunity, and if we dont take it we never ever will. It absolutely has to be this season
A lot of us identified a while ago...the biggest risk to promotion isn't other teams, it's injuries and fitness. You're also bang on about the playoff final, it hurt a lot especially coming so close, but the club wasn't ready.

This time though it would be in record breaking territory not to make it, and to not make it for such a stupid reason as squad depth...I'd have no words.

Some rank nonsense on here. “Bottled it”. “Now or never”. Absolute bilge. We’re in a poor run as key players have played too much. KKH needs a run of games now

Lampard himself did so early on too. That's why he's gone on about it ever since, it's an Achilles' heel that didn't need to be there.

Nobody expected us to be top of the league, let alone a few points clear and I personally didn’t think we’d have a sniff of the automatics this season. We were also obviously working on doing the stadium deal and we don’t know how that might’ve impacted plans.

This is the first chance we’ve had to properly address squad depth for the position we find ourselves in. FWIW if we don’t, I’ll gladly join in the meltdowns but we’re 4 days into the window.

We weren’t as good as many people thought we were 6 games ago
We‘re not as bad as many people think we are now.

We’re a genuine top 3 side (which is an improvement from last season)
We went on a good run, now we’re on a bad run.

It’s mostly just sequencing risk.

Wife and I are going and not bothered about who we put out, it's a glorified friendly as far as we're concerned. What these players need badly is rest and reinforcements.

Do the five thousand want to see us lose to Oxford in the next round and then have to go to Preston again next season, or would they rather we lose a meaningless game to Stoke and then go to Anfield and Old Trafford and St James park?

Just got back. A disappointing afternoon in the cold, with a long walk to Moor Street and a wait for the train.

I have to say though some of the quite frankly OTT overreaction on here has cheered me up, along with the postponed games at Frattan Park and Hull. I also reckon the bloke next to me at St Andrews will have a heart attack by the end of the season, particularly if Wright doesn't score.

Keep on being drama queens, its good for the soul.
