With Xmas adverts on the telly in November, cards in shops, decorations and trees up all over the place,,and bloody German markets,I'm pissed off with Christmas already. It seems to start earlier every year and by the time it arrives you've had enough of it.It must mean that our lives are so mundane and tedious that we have all this overkill at the end of the year to brighten it up ! But why ?

Bah humbug, every year I hear people say "ooh Xmas seems to have started earlier this year". No it hasn't, it's the same every year.

Bloody hell, that's a fall from grace for the bloke isn't it. I thought he'd turnef his hand to acting these days. Which shop is he working at? Primark?

Every year I get less interested. Could be a sign of getting older or the increased revolting commercialism there seems to be. It seems that for all the expense and build up, it is far too short. Come Boxing Day everyone is back in the retail parks like nothing ever happened

I'm the opposite. Every year I love Christmas more.

Dislike all the Christmas stock in stores in October and the Christmas songs blazing out in the shops and malls, but I simply block that out of my mind.

I get really Christmassy with about a week to go. Before that I am not interested at all, but with just the odd few days to go the spirit really kicks in for me.

I think the key is to just embrace it all on a personal level and to not get involved with all the commercial hoo hah. For me it is all about time together with family, special meals, decorating the house, giving and receiving presents, good films and the odd TV special. I dust down my 'Sinatra does Christmas CD, make the house all colourful and cozy, watch the joy on my daughter's face and anyway, it's probably the one time all year I can get my dad to smile.

You walk down the street on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and just about every single person you encounter says Merry Christmas to you and does so with a big beam on their faces. I just embrace the fact that people are being nice to me, even if it is just for 1 or 2 days and every shop I go in I always give the server a big Happy Christmas, complete with a smile and I nearly always get a big smile and greeting back.

I love Christmas! Bring it on.

I bleedin' hate Christmas! Far too commercialised! It's a religious festival and I am in no way a religious person. I don't believe in any god or Jesus so why wouold I get excited about his so-called birthday? Oliver Cromwell was the only person in British politics to have the balls to ban Christmas! Wish someone else would!

I'll own up here and say I loved Christmas as a kid and when I was with my ex missus too as we had a big family of five kids so as you can imagine it was a hectic but fun couple of days. But we've split up and my two sons are grown men now so it's just a bit of a piss up these days.Fair play to you Otis as I too was like you getting into the spirit of it all,as you have youngsters too I recall, anyway my ex made sure I got into it or she would call me a misery guts !

By the way Houch there's no date given in the bible for the birth of Jesus Christ.it's a pagan festival so you could say it's Santa's birthday !

Absolutely love christmas.

Eldest daughter is 29 in two weeks. Youngest lad was 5 three days ago. Have had at least one child being very good this time of year because of waiting for the visit of santa for as long as I can remember :) Been Xmas shopping for weeks now. Somersby cider £8 for 15 tinnies and 25% off wine if you buy 4 bottles of wine or more at Tesco's. Take a trolley in even if I only go in for a loaf of bread. Will have to start on pressie buying soon

After the 3rd of December I only have 3 shifts to do in 34 days :p Time to be with family and get merry. Time to forget your worries. Lost two members of my family and also had a major health scare for my wife in 24 hours this week. Will drink to those no longer with us and have quality time with those around me. No grumpy people allowed.
