Always been a gripe of Mine, Lampard just been asked about it. Question for people who do it, is it a reactionary "weve lost and need to let them know im not happy as its cost me 30 quid" thing, or a "I think this might motivate them", thing? Surely now of all times the players and fans need to be cohesive and aim for the common goal? I have just never understood the whole booing thing. Maybe im too nice.

I seem to be saying this on a lot of threads recently, but fans are entitled to express their opinion and booing isn’t breaking any laws.

Fans sacrifice a lot to travel up and down the country to support the team, if they believe that players aren’t putting in enough effort or it’s not good enough then fine.

I would argue I’ve seen a lot worse than recently, I’ve stood in the soaking rain and Baltic cold at Oldham’s Boundary Park and watched us get spanked 3-1 in one half, ended up being 4-1. I think that’s the last time I booed.

You can’t expect unconditional unwavering support despite doing badly. My boss wouldn’t pull me into his office and tell me I’m doing a great job if I wasn’t.

People pay their money so can make their own choices, but from my perspective booing is not a constructive way to show your feelings about the team's performance as it's a purely negative expression, that doesn't help anyone long term. Constructive criticism has its place, but booing only creates a toxic atmosphere and brings a fear factor of bei g the boo boy that makes it harder for the team to perform.

I think professional footballers know when they have had a bad game. They don’t need telling. I think fans leaving quietly is enough, they know they don’t get that response if they play well even if they lose.

fans leave quietly after a home draw. They are young men, and therefore need to be explicitly told when things are unacceptable. It doesn’t create a bad atmosphere it sets a level of expectation. If you think they are going to be REALLY upset that they got booed off then they need dropping.

I still remember the booing after the 4-1 loss away at Oxford. Easily still to this day one of the worst performances ive ever seen from the city. And Jordan Willis' missus took to twitter afterwards to call us all glory supporters Cov fans? Bottom of L1? Glory supporters? I bet Jordan felt a right plum with her doing stupid shit like that!

But the team hasnt been booed every time they've been in bad form. They've been in bad form for 3 months and still had the backing and support of the fans. Yesterday wasnt a 1 off bad performance. It was clearly the straw that broke the camels back.

Motivation doesn’t get anyone promoted on its own. There are about six teams who could get promoted. Form has fluctuated for all of them. Teams know they will get chances against us and learnt how to play themselves and are now taking their chances. We are not making the chances we were. I don’t think it is to with a lack of motivation.

I've never seen the booing of your own team helps in anyway whatsoever. If I was a player I just think fuck you I'm on 20k a week . Most humans react better to a cuddle rather than a slap.
