They couldn’t afford him now!!! £45m is a lot for a championship clubIn August, I would probably have accepted the reported £8m bid for him, as long as we had someone lined up to replace him.
I'm glad we didn't sell him now, as Bobby's form has been excellent.
The fact that we managed to stiff Wrexham for £6m and offload our oft injured captain, went a long way to fund our annual deficit.
Also, bigger clubs (lower prem ?) will probably have him somewhere on their radar...goals scoring/creating centre halves are always handy.
