What I resented was smart-arsed sixth-formers - often from well-off homes - being showered with expensive prizes for answering the most trivial of questions.

Also would anyone have watched it anyway if it wasn't shown immediately before the early evening news?

Ha, I was on that programme, and I am from a very average family !

As for being showered with expensive prizes, I won a walkman, which at the time, cost £12.99, for winning one gold run
