Bit early, just over a month away until the trip to Dagenham for the 1st round. Anyone planning on going? I work just round the corner so heres hoping theres no extra time as ive got to be away before ten!!!

Pretty easy to get to from central london too.

I thought the Milk Cup was formerly the League Cup? It was sponsored by the Milk Marketing Board in the 1970's wasn't it? I may be totally wrong........... :thinking about:

I thought about it but then decided its a bloody long way from South Yorkshire where I live to watch our reserves get humiliated.

At least when it was called the "League Cup" it was taken a bit more seriously. The Rumbelows Cup? The Milk Cup? What next? The Aldi Cup?

Probably go. I work in Central london so will be able to get there after work easily enough.

Not sure it'll be so easy to get back home to North London though

Went to Elm Park (Reading's old ground) to watch them outplay us in The Simod Cup.Michael Gilkes was a good player. Semi-final I think.. Another disappointing long trip home.

THink our lowest ever post-war crowd was against Millwall in the Full Members Cup....1986? It was about 5K.

Gilkes was a quality player! Started out as a winger, then later did a great job as a wing-back in their side that finished 2nd but missed out to Bolton in the playoffs. That was my first year of University at Reading, so I developed quite a soft spot for this little lower-league side in a terrible ground with a pitch that sloped more than Lords. I never dreamt then that one day they'd be a Premiership club whilst we were in L1!
