Do a league table of number of relegations in the last 60 years and that will show you why this is.
Same. It's my club and would never support another club. However, finishing closer to the bottom than top every year I do question why I'm spending my money for very little return.And how many promotions did they get in this time?
We have had nothing to celebrate other than escaping relegation several times for nearly 30 years. I take a lot of stick for being a Coventry City supporter. But there is one thing for sure. I am still proud to be a Coventry City supporter.

also should add imo a promotion completley erases a relegation, if we get back up to championship then the relegation under thorn will not effect me in anyway from then onwards, no pain whatsoever
the general buzz around ccfc right now is proof that fans have missed out on a team capable of finishing top 6. im just glad i am finnaly getting to see it! and i am 33 so not a young un!
But for Rochdale, realistically, League 2 is there Championship and League 1 the Premier League. They have very little hope of the Championship and no realistic chance of the Premier League.That shows that being a Rochdale fan is a truly miserable experience and you should be glad you don't support them as they have never been outside the bottom two divisions. That is in contrast to our club who over half a century have had far better times than not.
I agree Sick Boy. However, when you drop down the divisions you expect to be competitive. We haven't. In the last 15 years (no we were Premier League shut up comments) we are the only team to not have a 'good' season out of 91 other clubs. It's embarrassing, I was even reading the Leicester board a while back and even they can't believe anyone still turns up.Personally I feel immense pride that a relatively small club like ccfc rose through the divisions and held our own in the top flight for so long. If others prefer to be negative about it then it is their choice. I loved out time in the top flight and wouldn't change it for anything.
I would much rather have our history than most of the other clubs in the FL. I don't see the appeal in trading it for years spent battling it out in the lower leagues and finishing 6th and crashing out of the play offs.
I still think there will be a lot of disappointment on this forum if we make the play offa this year and it slowly dawns on some that they don't equate promotion.

Why do you keep talking about 1st division when I or no one else mentioned it in our last posts? For the last 15 years we have been in the Championship and League 1 like I said in my last post

Might find this interestingI couldn't give a shit about the underlying arguments regarding this....but never the less, it is quite simply a stunning fact......statistically freakish even.....bizarre.
The odds on "achieving" such a feat must be huge.
EDIT: Anyone on here remember a rather scathing & bitchy article written in the national press while we were still in the top flight......IIRC it was entitled "What is the point of Coventry city".......I think it was published after our last day escape at WHL in 1997

12 times lost more games than we've won
3 times won more games than we've lost
How do you increase attendances? Winning more games than you lose, most of the time. How do you lose support? Losing more games than you win year on year.
And how do you consistently win more games than you lose year on year when you're consistently one of the financially poorest clubs in the league.
